Exploring with Landscape Paintings in Watercolour

Today, I'm dipping my toes in here on FAA. I usually write on my own website, where I also share my travel and writing exploits, so this post is really just an introduction.

I love to explore the world with my paints, and this year (2024) I will be creating a series of articles and paintings which allow my readers to see the world through my eyes. I'm starting with some of my favourite locations in France, but I'll also be taking you on some trips in England with me!

First up is Corners of Collioure. It's a stunning little French town near the Spanish border that I love to visit, and I have many photos to use for reference. I'll be writing about how to get there, the surrounding area, and delving into the famous artists who've lived there throughout history.

Once that's done, we'll take in the narrow streets and stunning views; this is where the paints come out!

Watercolour is my medium of choice, and I use many different techniques along the way. Throughout March and April I'll be uploaded some of my recent paintings, and once I get the ball rolling with the travel paintings I'll pop those on here too.

The photo I've shared on this post is a teaser. It's taken from the top of the hill overlooking the town and doesn't give much away, but there are plenty more where this came from.

That's all for today. It's brief, but I had to start somewhere!

Watch this space.
