you don't upload you download

do you have a memory card reader? that way it is easy to bring all new photos over to your computer

I have a cable connected to my camera, I can't seem to find a place to import photo anymore on the computer.

Use a card reader, take your card from the camera, place in the reader, place the reader in a usb slot on your pc, create a folder in my documents give this a title, copy the images into the folder and make 2 back ups before putting the card back in the camera and formatting it

Click on my pc you should see a directory with your camera manufacturer, click on this open it and copy your files to the pc

The best way is with a card reader. But otherwise you would plug in the camera to usb cord. Then it should handshake and it should show the camera as drive. Then you choose what you want and slide it over.

Thanks Mike but I have no idea what a hand shake or slide it over means.

The camera probably saves photos to an SD card. Get something like this. Take the card out, put it in this thing and plug this thing into a USB port on the computer.

If it is an older camera, it may have a Compact Flash chip, in which case, it would take something like this:

The second one could handle either chip type.

much faster and safer with a card reader, they are not expensive

The computer has to recognize something is there, and for a bit it won't detect then it should. You may have to install drivers for it, but I think many cameras have a driver that installs itself.

Slide over means once your in, you can choose the files you want, hold down the left mouse button then while holding it, drag the files to where you want them.

Tony, I download photos from my Canon by cable. It's simple and straightforward. I downloaded the latest EOS Uility for Windows 10 and installed it.

Once I attach the cable and turn on the camera it automatically opens the programme on the computer where you can select the photos you wish to download to your computer.
