What Are The Advantages Of Having Your Own Website Linking To Your Pixels Site.

What are the advantages of having your own website linking to your pixels site vs just a pixels site?

I am toying with the idea of having a website done and have my pixels linked, but before I go through all of that, I am trying to figure out if the advantages outway the disadvantages.
Any help is appreciated.

Thank you.

If I go to FAA in your store and do a search, I will end up with everyone else and find someone else - you lose the sale. Being in FAA is like being in a large store with all the vendors combined, everyone can go to every booth. You want people in your booth alone, and that's why you send them there. Its also more professional.

I don't have a personal website I just send my name brand to the PRO site. This way I pay $12 a year for the name and the $30 here. And not have to keep up a website. I think you are more mobile if you have a website connected to here. So if you move on you can pop in another store or something like that.

Having your own website gives you the opportunity to build a relationship with potential customers. You have plenty of room to post both a bio and an artists statement. You can include a blog, which can be a big relationship builder. It also gives potential buyers another opportunity to find you. And, IMHO, it looks more professional.

David I, Bob's answer is more relevant.

Having your own website gives you access to more ability to harness customers and visitors.

Forms, pages, added information....

See an example of how I've set mine up. I'm trying to be a story teller first and an artist second

Thanks everyone.
I did take a look at your site Abbie. Very nice, I like it.
I will continue to ponder and see if I have any friends that want to build a website, lol.

Building websites is pretty much drag and drop these days, it isn't hard.

I use my website to put everything in one place. I'm blogging through my business website instead of a blogging platform.

I have my own website so I can showcase other things I do, like music and poetry. It's all in one place. My images are linked to my Pixels site. I also like being able to customize the way it looks, with my colors and designs. It's a bit of work and it's fun!

I have my website for years since before I joined FAA, so I kept it. I have a shop link to my premium site

My travel website has links to my work on FAA - I have my own domain name.

I didn't have the time to work too much on it lately, but I know that some of my sales are related to this website(s) - I have more than one. As the others said it gives more exposure to the public. My blog posts are half related to the work I uploaded to FAA, but I have so many travel photos... impossible to upload them all. They fill up my stories tough, and I hope they attract attention. I addition I have my own google ads, that bring me some extra revenue too ;)

Here is mine, and at the bottom you will see two more based my work.

I decided to keep my personal website because I have photos of set designs I have done for some high school plays and those generate traffic that I would not normally get here. I have placed links from there to here to try and lure some of the visitors over. Those set designs are my highest draw according to my analytics for the site. It seems the occasional person will come in the look at my set designs then scroll through a few painting photos before leaving, so I may eventually get some sales from it.

I don't think there are any advantages to just "having a website done". Once the basic site is there, it needs to be something that grows and evolves and provides content that people find useful. A one time set it and forget it isn't likely to do much of anything. To be of any use, its going to be an ongoing project that takes ongoing work.
