Just Curious If This Is True For You.

For no particular reason, I went to my sales page and went through all of my (non owner) sales since I joined in 2014.

I noticed something, IMO, very interesting and wonder if it's true for any other members here.

Almost all of my sales happen in the first few days of the month, the middle of the month or the last few days of the month. Is it because of when people generally receive their paycheck or is there something I don't know?

Not a block buster question/subject, but one I found curious. :O)

Edit: And my other thought/question is, if it is paycheck or whatever driven, how does that affect when I should upload new images? In other words, is there any advantage to uploading new works a few days before each of these particular "sales days" of the month?

Could also be some pattern with house sales closing, but I do not know.

I've been selling on the Internet since 1999. It's definitely a paycheck thing.

I agree Susan.

I would agree. Some people get paid once a month, some every two weeks, some twice a month. Like me, twice a month. I get paid on the 15th (or the last business day before the 15th) and the last business day of the month. Very few people get paid weekly anymore.

sometimes there is a pattern. like start and end, not as much in the middle. or there will be a swarm of sales then nothing for 2 weeks. i don't know what its related too. it could be after they paid the credit card bill or just after they got their pay check.

because it takes so long to get into the faa search (sometimes up to a week if it glitches). and google takes longer. there is no advantage to waiting. maybe advertising, but even then no. because people don't buy art on a whim usually. not often anyway. many will look at it now, then think about it for a week, then get it later on.

when i did get paid, it was bi-weekly. not sure if that matters though.

Thanks Mike, Chuck, David M., Susan and David B. for your input.

I'm probably overthinking this, but just thought there might be a little "hidden gem" there that might help increase sales.

I know. I know. " Advertise outside of FAA". :O)

Any more analysis/thoughts out there is welcome.

I did check for You:
there is some evidence, but not very strong.

Bill Tomsa

Sorry Rudi. "there is some evidence..." ?

Do you mean evidence of sales days being tied to paydays?

Probably tied to paychecks or government checks. I would use that knowledge to do heavy promotions in the days before. I don't think doing last minute uploads is going to be effective.

Interesting thought Bradford. I may try sending out email campaigns in the days before.

Thank you.

Is promotional email working again?

For me personally it's been consistently the same throughout the month for the last few months at least.

Bill,
I did count the sales 7 days before the first of the month and 8 days in the beginning of the month. When random thst should bring half of the sales, but it was 55 %. For only the first 8 days it was 31 % instead of 26 % random.

O.K. Rudi, got it. Thanks you for that.

I don't take this numbers very serious because my best single day is the 23rd which does not make any sense.

Val Arie

Bill - you made me look! They are all different dates of which I can make no sense but I did notice many more are after the 15th.

Bill:

Interesting observation.

I have noticed that my sales do tend to cluster more than randomness would suggest.

This month (August), a few sales in the first couple of days and then nothing.

You might have a point.

Yeah, I don't think this "discovery" is earth shaking (LOL), but it is curious and especially since it took me almost 6 years to recognize it. Duh.

I'm just wondering now if it can be "monetized" into more sales.

Any ideas anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Anyone?

I get 90 % of my sales after the full moon ever month, something to do with the women's period i think. lol

I'll let Abbie respond to that one, Louis. (Shaking my head)

I think Mike is right. When people decide to buy a piece of art and when they actually pay for it are not necessarily the same day. Hard to time that.
