Large White Borders On Painting & A Couple Of Other ?s....

Hello everyone,

I am looking for feedback from other artists about the borders on my painting. I don't know why, but I can't upload an image for anyone to see. I've tried :( But, it's easy enough to describe...

I typically paint a 2 inch white border on alot of my paintings. I'm curious what others think - should I nix the border when I upload them for printing purposes? And if so, what if someone wants to buy the original? I'm guessing there isn't a place to show another picture of the original painting showing the white border?

Also, my signature is unobtrusive, so I'm thinking of keeping it on my work. Good idea or no?

Lastly, do others here show their artwork at full resolution when they list something for sale or do they lower the resolution?

Thank you in advance for any advice, and I hope everyone is hanging in there and staying safe.
Val

Prints are made with a 1 inch white border on each side, as the machines do not print to the edges. So the prints will exaggerate your already white edge. You could put that info in the description.

The image shown is not full resolution. Even the sections of the closeups have missing edges so someone couldn't cobble all the closeups together and make a hi res image.

Ask interested parties to contact you, which they have to do anyway, and you can explain about your canvases having a natural white border.

As most of the frames here are back-loading frames...with only a few choices for "floating" frames for canvas prints...with a white border, a canvas print will have none of the painting's real image covered up with a frame...which may be an advantage to having a white border.

Hi there, Rich! Not sure why you couldn't see it under images. It shows under images and shop on my end. Thank you very much, Stacie!
