Facebook App

Is anyone else having issues with uploading and having the post go automatically to your FB page? I was doing fine and then all of sudden my shop and every post disappeared from FB and now I am not able to use the FB app at all. It says it's in "Development mode." Anyone else?

Yes, I could not get my image to appear on my Fan Page either. After trying several methods, I decided to just give it a day or so and see if things clear up. At least you saw something saying it's in "Development mode". After reading your text I checked the "Shop" and it looks like it still has the URL link in place to travel to but for now it's not getting there as you experienced. I would say, give it a day or so and see if whatever they MAY be doing clears up. Perhaps it's routine maintenance or as we experience here from time to time, a server problem or whatever. I'm sure we can get along without that feature for a few hours or a day.

You are not the only person to experience this which means Facebook are up to something again. They make changes without informing developers. They also expect you to reauthorise every so often but don't tell you when, so things suddenly stop working

I'll see if there is anything you we can do here but I think it'll be a hold on for a while

It looks like it may be working now. Check it out Alison.

Something new on FB that I don't remember seeing before yesterday was that a pop-up message comes on asking if you want to target your audience. Who knows if this was a new feature they were having problems with that might somehow be related.

Still not working and my shop is gone. I still have the "shop now" button, which directs customers to FAA, but nothing can be purchased directly through facebook with the app. Plus I have to manually add anything new instead of the app doing it automatically. I think it looks like a FAA issue. I emailed tech support. Will let you know if I hear back or if things magically fix themselves. GRRR!!

My shop is gone also! Maybe they want people to use the Facebook shop to sell. I see a new Community button

I've had problems with posting images with the link but after several tries it worked. Clicking the the Facebook icon works better

"App Not Setup: This app is still in development mode, and you don't have access to it. Switch to a registered test user or ask an app admin for permissions."

I also tried to post to my fan page andnothing happened. So then I checked the personal page (which needs to be set up prior) and I received the above message from Fine Art America.

I don't think it's Facebook. I think it's Fine Art America. What's going on?

I'm also having the same issue. All of my posts from FAA to my Artists Page on FB have vanished! I'm pretty confused by this, but hope that this will be worked out. I guess that I'll wait for a solution by FB?

I have a feeling the issue is with FAA, not FB. I've emailed FAA and hope for a response. Somehow the FB app is not interacting properly with FB itself. Bummer we are all having this issue.

I've inquired with FB and FAA tech support for what's going on. In the meantime I posted an FAA link to my FB page along with my latest photo on FAA. Just waiting for response from either FAA or FB.

Craig, I've take the exact same steps as you. It's an okay work around as the "Shop Now" button is still active on my FB page, which redirects customers to FAA. However, I've just signed up for the paid FAA subscription and now apparently I have my own website through pixels.com. So it adds some confusion - should I direct customers to FAA profile or pixels.com site? It's also a bummer that all my posts, history and likes have disappeared.

I have the same issue lost the link to my personal and fan page. When I attempt to link I get this message:


OOPS... SOMETHING IS NOT RIGHTWhen authorizing the Facebook Personal Application, you must allow it to "Manage Your Pages", "Publish to Your Wall", and "Find Your Friends".

Alison, always direct people to your pixels site because that is yours alone. No competition of other artists.
Is there a reason why you are not selling prints but only greeting cards? No bio either?

Thanks Jessica, I literally just found out about pixels site this morning when I was prompted to sign up for a subscription. Now I have to tinker with it in order to make it look presentable. More techy stuff to figure out...with very little time! I'm starting with the greeting cards and thought I'd add more items later. I just got started with all of this about a month ago after a ton of research on the best way to sell cards. I started with shopify and then found FAA and liked the samples and the ease of the FB app (until yesterday!). Working on the bio. Coming soon! Just so busy - work, family, etc.

And, oh my GOSH, your work is AMAZING!!! Holy moly. Stunning.

I am glad to hear that others are having issues - and thank you Isabela for the clarification. I am new to this too - so I have to ask - what is Pixels? Also - how do I control the items the types of items I sell? Right now I have just signed up for the free membership if that makes a difference. Thanks in advance!! Everyone has been so helpful

GAK!!! Thanks for the heads up .. yepper .. my little shop is gone as well.

I just added a screen shot of my AW page and the link ... we'll see what happens next. I'm not sure how much buzz that FB "shop" page is going to get ... it's tucked away pretty obscurely. Wasn't it in a more prominent place before??? Like right under the header??

I never use the auto-post to FB, have always just done it myself ... but I did like the "shop."

Maybe it won't show you the preview image, because you cannot edit it now. You can't do anything with it, so why show it. Please see my post (buried in the Big Skip).

Just like here on Pixels/FAA, their previews and actual images may be on two different servers, taking up a lot of space. Maybe FB is trying to save space and thereby money, by implementing the No Edit rule. Even though Mark Z. has billions, I'm sure he wants to keep FB running lean. He has a lot of other places at which he uses his wealth: hospitals, education, real estate, other philanthropies. And he also has to make way for the new top dog: video... which is a real space hog.

These are just thoughts (and musings!), as I really don't use FB much, and have not been using any apps/widgets. Any posts I make to FB of products from here has always been done manually. Twitter too. I want to start using my FB business page more, but not until this issue has been totally sorted.

I had same problem today. I uploaded 2 new photos to FAA, neither auto-posted to fb, and all my previously auto-posted photos have been removed from fb.

Then on my FAA profile page, I clicked on the little fb icon beneath my photo, it posted to fb but it said was posted by " FAA Like site". I deleted the fb post right away, because of the word "Like". Anyone else experience this? Or know what that "Like" means? I'm new to FAA, so apologies if this was cover in another discussion. ( I'm fairly certain my other FAA fb posts did not have the word "Like", but since those aren't posted anymore I could be wrong).

I resorted to copying the embedded link and copying and pasting the description from FAA as my message on my FB page, then I uploaded my photo of my art which enabled the picture. Convoluted but it worked.

I am having trouble and not only that when I tried to straighten out my password, I NO LONGER HAVE ONE.
This happened over the weekend so I'm hoping they get back to me today...the "technical team".....!!

I am having the same issue. I have lost all my art posts since mid-April. When I go into FAA FB setup.. I get the "App not set up" or that it is still in development or something..... I also lost my shop now button... but I have reset that ... At least I think I have. The only was to post is eight to upload directly or to share to my site from another site. It's FAA belng able to link to FB that is not working.....

When I looked on- line FAA seems to have the same problem every two years. Happened two years ago, 4 ,6. Please us notified when as you fix this bug and informing us to when it will be fixed. This feels scary since everything worked so well for a long time. It was a pleasure to be part of FAA...now not so much!

Yes. me.. I have always been able to post to facebook but now I keep getting the following messages.
OPPS. Something is not right.

I am having the same exact problem. My photos no longer go from Fine Art to FB, and I cannot access Fine Art by clicking their "Learn More." It was so fun and wonderful and now it's not. HELP!
