A small but brightly colorful copper tea kettle sits in a strategic location in the kitchen. When polished up, she catches the light and reflects it back even if her corner of the room is in semi-darkness. Always cheerful, always ready to boil up some water for the perfect cup of tea. One of my favorite things ... this bright beauty has been with me for many years ... and I haven't burned it out yet!!
"The Little Copper Kettle" was hand sketched freehand and painted in Corel Painter 2019 with a Wacom tablet, the art pen and digital brushes from the kettle herself, sitting in front of me. Unlike many of my images, there was no photo reference ... just eyeballs and hands!

I posted this one today. It is an ink painting on watercolor synthetic paper, and is of my little girl. Well she is all grown up now but from this look you have to wonder how this spectacle child ever had a chance. She is very successful, but did she grow up unscaved? Probably not. The look is so suspicious and doubtful. I think her father is sitting across from her and not me, but still? This is an abstraction of the actual photograph. I think that it displays a lot of feeling. But maybe this is just another mother unsure her choices in raising her children. The motherly doubts that consume a parent, are they justified? It is very difficult to parent, even when both parents are heading in the same direction and working together. I hope that this painting elicits some feeling for its viewers.

The Four Peaks of the Mazaztal Mountains in central Arizona are seen at last light, dusted with some late-winter snow as a nearly full moon rises over a ridge in the peaks. Near sunset, radiant sunlight strikes the rocky peaks and illuminates the dramatic foothills as the foreground is already in shadow.

The Milky Way galaxy and stars overtake Grand Teton of the Teton Mountain Range and Jenny lake in the Jackson Hole valley of Wyoming. This magical, starry night sky showcases one of the most scenic mountain ranges in all of North America. Located in Grand Teton National Park just south of Yellowstone, these iconic peaks are also some of the youngest in North America, hence their very prominent, jagged relief.

Saint Paul Cathedral Pittsburgh
St. Paul Cathedral Art Print from an Original Watercolor Painting. The mother church of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh has the beautiful architecture of Scholastic, or Decorated, Gothic revival style of the 14th Century.
This interior view shows the center aisle leading past rows of pews & columns leading up to the altar. Beautifully vaulted ceilings reflect the light shining through numerous stained glass windows.
Absolutely beautiful!

Once upon that time, in Everdream, there was Another Beginning.
Dear heart, we are with you, evermore.
Back in the early '80s, I awoke from a spectacular dream in which the word 'Everdream' stayed with me as I carried on with my day.
'Everdream' became part of the title of one of the first pen & ink illustrations I sold through a city gallery later in the year of the dream.

Santorini Emporio Village Steps
Greek Islands Art Print from an Original Watercolor Painting. The name Emporio means “trade” or “commerce” & this village used to be the center of all trade on the island.
Emporio is one of the traditional settlements on Santorini Greece & the largest village on the island. Close to Fira though not as touristy, it is worth visiting simply to admire the medieval architecture.
Walking a maze of narrow alleys, you will pass beautiful houses with overhead bridges between them. These old homes have textured walls, tiny windows & lovely steps leading up to entrance doors.

Surface of an Alien Planet, an acrylic abstract painting by Bill Tomsa, resembles a photo mapping image taken from a remote probe to another world and tends to spark one's imagination as to could this be similar to what we'll see once we leave, either physically or through robotic craft, our solar system.

Bread and Butter Caye Belize
Tropical art print from an Original Watercolor painting. Paradise greats you with blue skies, clear water & a tiny island with a turquoise shack, colorful chairs, hammocks & palm trees.
Bread and Butter Caye is a tiny island off Hopkins Belize that is only 450 ft long. It is full of good Vibes.
This little island is owned by Duane Miller, an expat from USA. He bought it when it was all mangroves, brought in sand & built a few cabanas. His island is open for public enjoyment. Visitors can grab a bite to eat, snorkel the beautiful reefs, swim, visit with other guests & relax in the hammocks.

Sunset on Mount Bonnell Austin Texas
Austin Texas art print from an Original Watercolor Painting. Mt Bonnell is the perfect viewing spot to see the magnificent Austin landscape. It is the tallest peak rising 775 feet. Almost 200 feet of that elevation are 102 limestone steps up the summit.
Once you reach the top, you can catch your breath at the pavilion & enjoy the sweeping views over Lake Austin. To the west is the famous 360 bridge & the expansive Hill Country. To the southeast is the ever changing downtown skyline.
This Central Texas classic is one of Austin’s oldest attractions, dating back to the 1850s.
Mt Bonnell is top on my list of places to visit with out-of-town guests.

The people realize they are all part of nature, they are all notes in the song of life, the seasons, the mountain, the clouds, the grasses, the raven, all create a symphony. Amorak, the spirit of the wolf, feeds on the caribou, it is also the wolf that keeps the herd strong by weeding out the weak and the sick.

Rays of sunlight peak over Rincon Peak east of Tucson, Arizona at Saguaro National Park. Red and gold clouds hover in the sky over the magenta mountains and Sonoran Desert landscape at dawn. Mornings in the desert are peaceful and often filled with magnificent cloud cover from the coolness of the night. Saguaro cacti, prickly pear and ocotillo dot the pristine landscape as birds fly by.

Ireland Alpaca Farm Landscape
Ireland Art Print from an Original Watercolor Painting. Waterfall Alpaca Farm in West Cork boasts of having a Stone Row dating to the Bronze Age. The rolling hill landscape of green grass, hedges & trees invites visitors to experience the tranquility in nature.
The farm is home to a variety of animals including alpacas that guests may take along with them on walks.
I was commissioned to paint this beautiful location from travel photos of an epic Irish vacation.
So lovely & peaceful.

Finger Rock and Mount Kimball in the Catalina Mountains north of Tucson, Arizona are aglow in red and orange hues during a dramatic sunset at golden hour. State saguaro cacti dot the Sonoran Desert landscape during day's end. The Finger Rock Trail can be seen snaking through the rocks and vegetation including barrel cacti, ocotillos, and prickly pear cactus, on its way to Finger Rock Canton and eventually the summit of Mount Kimball. Spring has come to the desert, as we see many of these beautiful plants in bloom. I even included a few Mexican Gold poppies in the foreground to intensify the splendor. Spring is a great time to soak in the warmth and light of the American Southwest.

Austin Texas Skyline From Lou Neff Point
Austin Texas Art Print from an Original Watercolor Painting. Lou Neff Point on the Zilker Park Hike & Bike Trail is situated where Barton Springs flows into Lady Bird Lake. Here is a picture perfect spot to view the downtown Austin Skyline & watch people paddle boarding, kayaking & canoeing.
The reflections of the ever growing skyscrapers shimmer on the calm blue water. The Independent is the most recently completed building & is locally referred to as the Jenga Tower for its offset stacked design.
Such a pretty city, especially from Lou Neff Point!

Thank you for the feature art accolades for this horizontal, long, wide abstract painting of the turbines on an abstract wind farm. It is my story as I travel through these fields on long cross country drives with total amazement. The industrial sculpture is massive and the highways divide these parks to display the massive structures on both sides of the road. It is amazing that workers climb these windmills to repair and inspect. Their energy production has significant contribution in the reduction of coal or petroleum needs. This painting is against an open blue sky with clouds. The turbine s are laid out on a golden yellow wheat field.

A bright and cheerful bouquet of spring flowers on a sunny morning. The kind of vision you see out of the corner of your eye while you're doing something else. Even though you don't even consciously look at it, it brings a smile. Image created entirely from my imagination as I was swishing pixels around for the fun of it ... not photo based or even referenced. Hand-painted in Corel Painter 2019 with a Wacom tablet and art pen stylus, utilizing many beautiful brushes. Lois Bryan

Flower Dripping With CheerWith the human cry of hope, faith and patience this abstract minimalist and colorful dripping flower was hand painted to share and bring hope to many in the form of a view, notecard, or greeting across the miles. Social media embraced this fun little piece with great discussion and enthusiasm. The reminder that the earth continues to produce and the gifts of springtime continue to present there is much to be hopeful for and trusting faithfulness to embrace. The floral painting with pink, fuchsia petals and gold center is a simple painting but has resonated as a gift of promise for normality again as God remains in charge.

An inviting cafe is open for lunch on one of the many canals of Venice, Italy. Two row boats with men and woman are getting ready to dock assisted by a gondolier wearing his traditional straw hat and striped shirt. The time is an era long ago when the fashion was always extravagant even in the afternoon.

Journey To The Center Of The Picture...
Entering from the great beyond along the bottom edge, a single line winds its way meanderingly toward the center of the picture, pausing along the way to fashion various loops and side trails, until at last it arrives at the very center, spiraling in for a comfortable landing, secure in the notion that it has filled the available space and left no corner unturned.

I had some catching up to do. This one seemed appropriate today. I am usually very upbeat , especially with my paintings, but with so many family members working as RNs in ICUs right now or first responding, I am a bit discouraged. I heard in their words today, anxiety and maybe fear. They are so strong, smart, incredible people. Prayers
This painting is more cold and metal than anything else I have posted. I still like it and learned from this piece, it was appropriate for today.
