A Taste of Needham Open Studios

For the first time, Needham Open Studios is creating a “pop-up art exhibit” at the First Baptist Church at 858 Great Plain Avenue with a sampling of Needham Open Studios artists. They will be displaying and selling their artwork on October 4–6, 2019. The exhibit, “A Taste of Needham Open Studios” is a weekend event that is free and open to the public.

To launch this new community event, an Opening Reception will be held on Friday, October 4 from 6 -8 p.m. In support of the “Taste of…” theme light refreshments will be provided by local restaurants: newly-opened Hungry Coyote Taqueria, newly-opened Chef Mike’s Italian Restaurant and Stacy’s Juicebar. A dessert sampler will be provided by Treat Cupcake Bar and beverages courtesy of Roches Brother. All are invited to get a taste of art and a taste of Needham’s eateries. Entertainment will be provided by local singer and piano player Advika Krishnan.

Artists will be on location for the Opening Reception and on Saturday, October 5th and Sunday, October 6th from 11am-4 pm. Two artists will be holding live demonstrations throughout the weekend. Naomi Wilsey, will be demonstrating watercolor painting and Anne E.G. Nydam, printmaker, will be demonstrating rubber block carving all weekend. Drawings for gift certificates to local businesses will be held throughout the weekend.
