Mythical Creatures

I wonder if anyone believes there are mythical creatures in this world? I have encountered this creature in California, so I believe this is real. Has anyone ever encountered the same as me?

I have seen multiple UFOs, but nothing as interesting as a mythical creature.

I saw one about ten years ago while bow hunting...
its head hangs on my den trophy wall.
Haven't seen any since.

I heard there are artists who make things with their actual hands but it's probably just water cooler gossip.

I don't believe in mystical creatures like Big Foot, Lock Ness Monster, or aliens.

However, deep down inside me, I would like to believe that there is something out there in that lock or in the forest of the Northwest that we have yet to discover.

I don't know about mythical creatures, but I do believe that we do not know all that exists and there are three places in my world that I will not ever explore. One is the deep forest, deep ocean and space. The darkness and what lives beyond the light is a lot more fierce than I.

Although these things creep me out, there are many creepy things right in front of me at times too. I do a lot of gardening and see lots of creepy crawlies and most of them are cute but once in awhile things just weird me out. I'm a chicken for sure. I should point out that I've been bitten by everything too.

"No, but they are there."

I'm a fairly hard-wired skeptic, but quite willing to be convinced. In particular, our local demons include the Snallygaster and Chessie. I have not seen either. The Jersey Devil resides in a neighboring state, but I have not seen that one either. I did, once, however, see the ghost of my mother's Uncle Henry.

For years and years we had a mythical wild cat stalking us in the countryside. We were all called ridiculous and conspiracy theorists. Truth. I was on my motorbike one afternoon and saw it in a field not far from my house. I told people and they said I was crazy.

Well, it has now almost been proven we DO have wild cats loose. So who is crazy now.

So no, I do not believe in many but..... well, who knows

For a long time, I've heard occasional stories about mountain lions being seen a few miles from me in Owings Mills, a big suburban area northwest of the city, completely in the Baltimore metro area. I know a person that lives out there in an old family farm house. He claims to have heard it. True? I don't know.

Hi Ed Meredith,

That's amazing that you saw one about ten years ago while bow hunting...its head hangs on your den trophy wall. Can you describe his face to me? Because the creature I encountered is invisible. so I can't see his face.

That are still in existence?

I think at one time unicorns existed, we know a lot about them, but they are extinct now because they were too delicious.

Dragons I think are leftover dinosaurs.

Big foot is real, but we are fake... I think its possible that there is a split dimension where there is a population of bigfeet and our dimension overlaps in one area. Similar to my ghost theory, we are seeing them, they are seeing us and we both have the same legends. That's why bigfoot is always blurry looking, despite camera tech. The worlds mesh and its not a sharp image.

Ghosts are not real, they are people from the past that we can see through a micro wormhole. It distorts time and light and maybe sound. We can see through it, and see the past, of say a 100 years ago, but its distorted so you only see half the person and its see through because you are seeing through time. And they see you the same way. The reason you are there is because you heard the place was haunted, but you are the ghost that the person a 100 years ago saw. It works the same way when you shout at ghosts in the future that they are dead and they should just leave. They hear the voice, go mad, hang themselves, and create the ghost story that a girl hung herself because she heard voices in her head to do that very thing. I think its plausible.

Aliens are probably real, I can't see that we are the only ones around.

Genetic mutations can always occur, yielding some 'strange' creatures, especially in our era when the environment is affected by nuclear/chemical waste and radiation.

Oh and the thing with the UFO's, people assume they are smarter than us, they look for very large ships. When in reality they may be really small. The ones that are supposedly seen, for all I know are filled with dolphins and squid. Aliens take all forms...

Mermaids, I always wondered why the fish half is on the bottom.

My maternal grandmother had 6 children, all born at home, in a village, on an island, in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.

All the waste was placed in the backyard, once filled, the man of the house would remove it.

One day, my grandmother caught a mouse with a human ear on it's back. Apparently, the mouse had eaten, the after birth placenta.

My mother, the oldest of 6, was amazed, of this unusual mystical creature, which my grandmother, *#*#/ it ~ , out of pity for the creature.

She later explain to my mother, who was very young, around 1940s, that's why all the placenta have to be carefully burned, before putting it out to waste.

Our ancestors knew about Stem Cells, but did not understand it, completely.

Floyd Snyder,

Thank you for your kind reply!

Yes, many people like you do not believe in the existence of mythical creatures. But even if we can't see them, they are real. I talked about I have encountered them , and though I couldn't see them, I felt the movement of leaves and the sound of footsteps. Perhaps in the not-too-distant future, you will encounter them also in the forest, if so ,please share with us.Or biological scientists can actually find them in somewhere. What an exciting time that will be! I look forward to this moment, because I trust my feelings and intuition,I have indeed encountered them!

Unfortunately, the proof is in the showing. I keep hoping but so far, no real evidence of crypto-creatures. It seems like, somewhere, sometime, at least one of these things would have died and left a corpse behind that was seen and documented. It's generally a quick glimpse by someone in a dubious state of sobriety or sanity or some remote place in Siberia where it got eaten by wolves before the scientists got there, or a bad quality photo, worse than the worst phone photo, that could be a Martian or an opossum that got run over by a truck. With all of the people that somehow use their phones to capture their neighbors and friends in unfortunate situations, you'd think ONE would be a decent shot of a strange creature, or ET or space ship or whatever.

I keep wishing for a real X-File.

Hi David Manlove,

Thank you for your comment! If you want to experience mythical creatures, just go in the deep forest.

To have success, you need to have good intentions. The mythical creatures are highly intuitive. They know our intentions without us even speaking.

I am a believer in the myth. I love to hear other people's experiences but wish to have none of my own. I also believe that we are mythical creatures over time. I LOVE Myth, metaphors, the mystics, the mediums and physicists. I'm also glad I have no talents as such.

Doug Swanson

I suppose that it's a matter of language, but once a creature is discovered or re-discovered, then it's no longer mythical, just rare, like the Ivory Billed Woodpecker, which has been "extinct" for a long time, but also seen recently.

Having witnessed people doing this, I also have a huge belief in the ability of humans to see what they want, or expect or fear to see, so if they're lost in the dark woods and want to see a fairy, their brain just might make one. That's why we need multiple credible witnesses or physical evidence before we believe.

Jake Saunders

Lisa Kaiser,

Thanks for your reply!

You don't want to have the mythical experience because I remember you said you love to garden ,but little creatures bite you and you are the chicken!
That's OK, I felt the same way until I had the experience with the creatures in the forest.

Oh no, fairies or whatever you wish to call them are entirely real and they cause much havoc if you have an infestation. We took rock from a rocky hillside that was blown up to make a driveway. The rock we took was free and oh my, I can't describe what happened next unless one is to believe I'm insane. I never did anything to rid myself of the creatures, but I made peace with them and will do so for the rest of my days. Along the way of all my travels, if I feel odd energies, I make peace to the best of my ability...some mythical creatures know you your intent better than you know yourself. We get away with nothing. LAMO.

Jake - "Wassup Doug ?,

I am a big fan of the X-file too. What are you waiting for ?You need to go deep into the forest like I did. There you will find high strangeness. Did you read my story about the creatures in the forest ? If not, please read the story on my profile page begging with the picture Mistery Misty Mountain 1.It helps if you believe in the paranormal. From your email I can see that you want to believe."

I'd give a minor clarification. I want some evidence that's NOT based on belief or the effects of being too long alone in the deep woods. I can believe in anything I want, including the Flying Spaghetti Monster (the deity of Pastafarians), but that's not the same thing as proof, evidence or even a convincing argument.

Wassup Doug,

I can't give you absolute proof of mythical creatures. If I could, they will no longer be mythical.
The only proof you will find that will satisfy you,it's to experience for yourself in the forest.

I'm frustrated. I've been interested in mythic, crypto, ET, alien species since I was a kid, but so far, no luck for me. I have been told by a lot of doubters that it's a fruitless quest. I've also, repeatedly been told by Believers (note the capital B) that my doubt makes the critters not show up. That's a highly dubious statement. I have also been on a few of the proverbial wild goose chases and didn't find or witness anything other than other frustrated "seekers". My faith in the existence of such stuff has gotten real low.

I think I'd have a greater chance at success of finding an honest politician than I would of finding Bigfoot, Mothman, ET, The Jersey Devil, the Jackelope, the Chupacabra, the Yeti or the Flying Spaghetti Monster.

Jim, I love that myth too. Send some little devils or angels out there to possess people to buy your fab art with your super-power brain.

Of all the people who sell boring art well, your art will not only sell, but will be amazing in homes and offices across the globe. I think you should market four hours per day and become the next best seller on FAA.

My friend who sells a lot of prints says that is why she sells so many products online, usually about 3K per month. Hey selling online isn't a myth! It's a real creature of intent and persistence. (lol) (something I don't have much of.) I better stop writing here and go do that now.

Sell Art Online

Ah, the irony of the myth of sales like Icarus flying too close to the sun when times are good~but since the painting is by William Blake- who was a true believer; they exist in poetry if you believe! I believe he sold later in life and had quite a reputation and lots of criticism.

"I still believe in the myth of selling a lot of art on. The internet!"

That one's close to verifiable reality. Some people DO sell lots of stuff on the web. I can't make that claim, but I've sold enough to keep me going...enough to raise that idea from myth to truth. Fortunately there are servers that keep track of this, so we can even produce some documentation and reports. I wish we could say the same thing for weird creatures. So far, that's limited to sketchy reports of something seen by dubious witnesses. No crashed space ships or dead Mothman corpses exist to shake my doubt. I just have to keep hoping. My most local one is Chessie, a legendary sea monster seen around the Chesapeake Bay. After a long time and lots of reports, old Chessie just morphed into an advertising icon.

Wassup Doug,

Funny you should mention this again. They were talking about this last night on Coast to Coast AM. They said the same thing that I was thinking. In order to have success seeing cryptoid creates, you need to have faith that is exist. Maybe because I believe I have seen several paranormal entities. I am not done on you for not believing.

" In order to have success seeing cryptoid creates, you need to have faith that is exist."

My sense of material existence doesn't include a creature depending on MY state of belief. That veers toward delusion. I want to actually be able to prove or demonstrate or at least have evidence that Mothman exists. So far, nothing on that one or other cryptids, which have, so far, eluded me.

Well id rather place my knowledge on seeing it first hand and experiencing it in person. However according to Dr. Steven Greer, who has been researching our governments affiliation with extraterrestrials and space craft technology for the past 30 plus years and recently did a press club event in Washington providing proof facts and documents for the government to answer to. According to his research of documents since the 1940's, to include powers that be have had technology to provide not only free electricity to the whole world but also fuel that run off 95% water and 5% gasoline. It has been said that Tesla was actually murdered to keep this from us as was Mr. Myers who created the fuel mix for us. He also was murdered. Oddly enough this technology has been suppressed to the public and s finally being brought to the publics attention.

this link below has pretty much all the info on him you find find it as i have, quite interesting....and because it isnt about a new sci fi film or other crap like that this is all about top secret documents, government whistleblowers and the corruptness of the powers that be, not actually all our government that has covered this up for the past 100 years.

the movie "UNACKNOWLEDGED" and "Close Encounters of the 5th Kind" will answer lots of questions for you. His newest effort of proof lies in the upcoming film release called "The Lost Century " and how to reclaim it.

I'm not much of a believer, either in mysterious stuff, or in the ability of the "powers that be" to keep that stuff hidden. Everything escapes after a while and the X Files was just a TV show, a lot like I Dream of Genie. My problem with all that is that it's hard to keep anything secret, including the Atomic Bomb and numerous important military secrets that were stolen by the USSR back in the prime-time days of UFO paranoia. I've been waiting all of my life for somebody to reveal, uncover or break into that secret warehouse at Area 51, waiting for a leak from the NSA, a revelation from the CIA, an expose from a former employee or an admission from the FBI. Given the burden of proof about ET visits, I continue to wait for some hard evidence. I've been watching most of my life and continue to be disappointed and would love to see it. I'm not even a disbeliever as much as a disappointed skeptic.

There's so much BS in the world that seeing something on a sketchy web site doesn't work well for me. Just read up on the pre-electronic era, reports on witchcraft and magic to realize that human perception is easily fooled. People tend to believe what they want to believe and then make up the reasons. It's just a short step after that to making up the evidence.

Jake Saunders

Wassup Doug!

You have the mind of a scientist. They always want proof to verify facts .The world of cryptology involves imagination and metaphysical concepts. Not exactly the scientific method. The metaphysical world is an amazing place to explore.

Jake Saunders

Hi Doug,

Everyone seeking the truth wants the facts. The truth however is hidden form most people until they die. How do I know? I died. After my NDE I was shown many things that I never want to believe. True, people want to believe what they want. So most of what I now believe, are things you won't believe. What I will say is,your life is more than you could ever know.Your life is so awesome!

Doug Swanson

My mind is open to it all, but so far, not just no "proof", but not much in the way of suggestions either. Once, in a session with someone who was "contacting the spirit world", I was told that skepticism and disbelief were enough to discourage spirits. That was just toooo darn convenient. The whole NDE thing is interesting, but so far, I have not been there. I actually did some academic study on that in a grad school course and the problem was that nobody does that NDE thing in a way that you can study, since, by its nature, it's an emergency situation and not subject to an experiment. I've read lots of anecdotal reports that are fascinating, but nobody wants to go back and do that again if they can help it.

Jake Saunders

Wassup Doug,

You made interesting point. I would not want to go through the NDE again. It was extremely painful. Doctor Raymond Moody wrote a book entitled Life After Life.I believe he interviewed over 14000 NDE experiencers . He was able to find patters in the answers that the people give in the lengthy questionnaire.Even though it is not hard science, it is the closest thing we can get to science.

Doug Swanson

One of the things I recall from my Altered States grad course was how a lot of those NDE experiences are very similar to the effect of oxygen deprivation on the brain. Stuff boils up from you own unconscious and nerve cells malfunction before they die. Hopefully, you get back "up" before cell death occurs, otherwise things get a lot worse, but like normal dreams, those experiences are not subject to any external verification.....it's MY dream that came from my brain when it was traumatized and oxygen deprived but it wouldn't work as court evidence.

I recall from that long-ago course, reading accounts of people that had this happen, NDE's, flashbacks, flash forwards, altered states (lots of things can cause those), hallucinations, etc, but none went beyond being interesting. I still don't know who kidnapped the Lindbergh baby.

Jake Saunders

Wassup Doug,

Thank you for your email. Great subject! So of course you can believe whatever you need to. Because of my personal experience with NDE, I don't subscribe to what doctor's and scientist tech about this. They always want physical evidence, but they can never find it. That is because the NDE experience happens outside of the body. When you die,you remember who you are and you remember the way home. When I was outside of the body, I remembered who I was and I tried to go home. I went to the gates of death and ask them to open for me. It was not my time to die.
In the bible in 1 Corinthians ch13:12 it says,"For now we say through a glass dimly, but then face to face.now I know in part, but them (when you die). I shall know fully...When you die you will know the things that I know plus much more. The butler sold the Lindbergh baby for some crack.

Doug Swanson

It's worth noting that Altered States as a mode of psychotherapy has long been appealing due to the fact that, whatever objective, material truth or non truth there is to the experience, it frequently changes people. The unpredictability is the problem for medical uses, but there's no doubt that something happens to human brains when they go through powerful experiences, but exactly what and how you control the effect so that it's helpful still is beyond us.

Doug Swanson

It's also worth noting that health insurance won't pay for altered states therapy, along with a lot of other less dramatic ways of feeling better. The systems seem to have become more flexible in recent years, but you still need controlled studies, statistics, cause-and-effect, and peer review, none of which are the strong suit of many outsider therapies. There's also a lot of societal resistance to some of these. I had some long-ago coursework experience with the last LSD project in the US (Spring Grove Hospital) and it did have very positive outcomes for patients, but paranoid horror of anti-drug campaigners nixed even this carefully controlled study by competent professionals.

They were accused of "giving drugs" to patients....as though the addictive, side-effect laden meds that were "legitimate" were not drugs. The cynical might notice that LSD was not patented, long term (generally one $15 dose), nor expensive, while other psych drugs were long-term, patented and controlled by pharma companies.

Wassup Doug,

Thank you for your email. I must say that I enjoy your intelligent correspondence. I like to share the big words you use in your email with my Chinese friend. You mentioned the studies done with LSD. If a person can handle it, the LSD experience can be life changing. I took LSD a few times. I am glad I did. It helped me to understand nature in a whole new way. Since that time I was given more information from my spirit guides. We have connection with nature that few people understand. I have not take LSD in forty years but I can tell you again that your life so much more than just the physical. You are an eternal spirit having a human experience.
