Matching A Famous Quote With Image (image Thread)

So…this is an image thread for 1 month. Please read the rules before posting here.
1. You have to associate as close as possible a famous quote, proverb or saying (findable on the Internet) with one of your artworks and post it together with the image, indicating the author of the quote, if known. (As resource for checking the quotes I would recommend goodreads.com and quoteinvestigator.com). You have to assure yourself beforehand that the quote is not prohibited by copyright to be used likewise.
2.Any member can post unlimited times per day, but only after 5 other members have posted since the last one. If the thread is stuck for more than 12 hours, exception is accepted. You cannot repeat the same quote in the same day, nor the other fives before you.
3.The image must belong to the posting person with full copyrights.

Thank you and have fun!

"Let there be light" is an English translation of the Hebrew יְהִי אוֹר‎ (yehi 'or) found in Genesis 1:3 of the Torah, the first part of the Hebrew Bible. In Old Testament translations of the phrase, translations include the Greek phrase γενηθήτω φῶς (genēthētō phōs) and the Latin phrases fiat lux and lux sit.

From Shakespeare's "Macbeth" scene with three witches , these are the ingredients from the cauldron

"In the cauldron boil and bake;
Eye of newt and toe of frog,
Wool of bat and tongue of dog,
Adder's fork and blindworm's sting,

Lizard's leg and howlet's wing...." Full quote in the drawing description.

The last line of Aesop's fable The Four Oxen and the Lion is the phrase "united we stand, divided we fall."

"A lion used to prowl about a field in which four oxen used to dwell. Many a time he tried to attack them; but whenever he came near they turned their tails to warn another, so that whichever way he approached them he was met by the horns of one of them. At last, however, they fell a-quarrelling among themselves, and each went off to pasture alone in the separate corner of the field. Then the Lion attacked them one by one and soon made an end of all four.

United we stand, divided we fall."

I used the first half of the quote in this expunged version :

"In the future, everyone will be world-famous for 15 minutes." - Andy Warhol

I could never afford a Warhol so many years ago i bought a bunch of Warhol pins
at the MOMA museum store and made my own Warhol. Using his quotes and pinning
the pins to a black plastic coated paper I titled it, "Warholing Andy"

In a true Warhol fashion I had someone else do the work (pinning and writing) for me... lol

Pink Floyd Art

This painting was inspired by the song "Wish You Were Here" by Pink Floyd:

"We're just two lost souls
Swimming in a fish bowl
Year after year
Running over the same old ground
What have we found?
The same old fears
Wish you were here"

Songwriters: Roger Waters / David Gilmour.

"Truth is stranger than fiction": from Lord Byron, in the satirical poem Don Juan, 1823: ' Tis strange - but true; for truth is always strange; Stranger than fiction; if it could be told, How much would novels gain by the exchange!

Having cleared up the source, I'd have to say that there is some pretty strange fiction circulating at the moment!

“In North By Northwest during the scene on Mount Rushmore, I wanted Cary Grant to hide in Lincoln's nostril and then have a fit of sneezing. The Parks Commission...was rather upset at this thought. I argued until one of their number asked me how I would like it if they had Lincoln play the scene in Cary Grant's nose.

I saw their point at once.”

“I have an affection for those transitional seasons, the way they take the edge of the intense cold of winter, or heat of summer.” – Whitney Otto, How to make an American Quilt

Changing Season - As autumn approaches, leaves of a deciduous Silk Floss Tree (Ceiba speciose) undergo seasonal color change, with the greens transitioning to yellow. I was attracted to this composition by the yellow-green color contrast and the bokeh of out-of-focus pink flowers in the background.

If the rate of expansion one second after the Big Bang had been smaller by even one part in a hundred thousand million million, it would have recollapsed before it reached its present size. On the other hand, if it had been greater by a part in a million, the universe would have expanded too rapidly for stars and planets to form. -- Stephen Hawking
