Product Images

I am new to the site and uploaded an image for products. Some of the images fit perfectly on certain items but others not at all. Is it the photo I uploaded or will it actually appear as such once it is produced?

Thanks in advance.

If the image is too small it won't fit. Don't have prices on those things. Or have larger work (but don't enlarge the image). What you see is what you get, if it doesn't fit, the site doesn't force fit it.

Hello

All of the print sizes our size generates for your own images are custom to that source file.

We control the long side of your image in 2" increments starting at 8"x XXX. And from there, you just want to use a multiple of 100dpi. So in the above example, using an image that is 4000 pixels by 3000 pixels, we show you sizes up to a maximum of 40" x 30".

Unlike other sites we never crop or skew images to fit standard sizes, instead allowing the artist free scope to just upload what they have. This is unless you allow cropping. If you tick to allow cropping your image will be cropped to fit standard sizes. The crop is from the centre of the image so the customer will lose parts from the edges. If you do not wish this, do not allow cropping. You can turn that off in Default Settings for future images. Bulk Image Editor for existing images, and on an image by image basis on its edit page.

As you can see in the attached image, the only limits we have are that one of your dimensions is going to be forced to fit the following list:

8″
10″
12″
14″
16″
20″
24″
32″
36″
48″

We allow 25mb only and you can change the compression as low as 10 before it hurts the image

Never enlarge your images (change the pixel size to a larger one) as that degrades the print quality and we will refuse to print and, if your images are too large file size, you can compress to 10 in Photoshop before losing quality

If you sell an image we will refuse to print if the image shows.......

Pixellation
Blockiness
Bad cropping
Blurriness not in keeping with the image (ie not meant to be there)
normal font signature (Arial, Times New Roman etc)
signature cropped half off the image
large watermarks
noticeable camera flash
Upsized images

We do not do quality control until you sell so, it is your responsibility to quality control your images carefully before uploading. You do this by zooming in a photo editor to 100% and then carefully going over the image, checking for the above defects

I have a thread about this, here https://fineartamerica.com/showmessages.php?messageid=5251790

We require Adobe RGB or sRGB and do not accept CMYK or ProPhoto

How does a photo of smaller resolution than that of a product fit pls? Does FAA enlarge the photo to fit bigger products such as curtains? I mean if there is a photo of 4000x4000 pixels it will still fit in a product of 8000x8000 (that’s just an example for clarification)

It doesn't. It is up to you to remove things for sale that things do not fit on

This is your responsibility as the artist

Add a markup to the ones you wish to sell

Do not add one (or anything else) to those you do not wish to sell

You cannot choose between the prints, only prints and products

Default Settings for new products
Bulk Edit for existing

Abbie, thank u for ur reply. I think u didn’t get my point. I just mean when i for example upload a 5000x5000 photo, it fits good on a curtain already, although a curtain is more than 5000x5000, how does that happen?

Abbie Shores

Because some fabrics are good for smaller images to be printed on. They are far more forgiving

Got it. Thank you Abbie
