Mahalo! My husband is a medical traveler. We have lived and worked on three islands. Multiple times on Maui, and Oahu. Once on the Big Island. Maui and Oahu were many years ago. I've grown quite a bit as a photographer since then.
Don't try to get too fancy in the About section. It disappears entirely if you do much more than basic punctuation. If you want to play with it, only do one change at a time and check it, so you know where the problem is. I have a couple of contractions in mine, but every time I go in and edit something, I run the risk of it doing the same thing yours did.
If you have a premium account, you set up that About section separately and can get away with more.
