Hawk Mountain Sanctuary, Pennsylvania
Kempton, Pennsylvania.
Hawk Mountain Sanctuary is a 2,600-acre natural area in southeastern Pennsylvania that is famous as the world's first refuge for birds of prey. Today, visitors flock to Hawk Mountain each autumn to watch the annual hawk migration. Between August 15 and December 15 an average 18,000 raptors fly past its ridgetops, often at eye-level. Scenic overlooks range from 1,300 to 1,500 feet in elevation offering spectacular views. By mid-August the first bald eagle signals the beginning of the fall raptor migration, followed by ospreys, and American kestrels. Thousands of broad-winged hawks pass in mid September, and October brings as many as 16 species of raptors. A total of 235 species of birds have been sighted at or near this bird-watching mecca.

The human race wouldn’t last very long in a world without water. It wouldn’t be quite so green for very long. With no water supply, all vegetation would die out and the earth would be brown and clouds would cease to formulate and precipitation would stop, the weather would be dictated almost entirely by wind patterns. Our climate would resemble one endless summer – not the shorts-and-t-shirt kind... the flesh-meltingly hot kind...
The Salton Sea is a shallow, landlocked body of water and California's largest lake. At a surface elevation of 227 feet Below Sea level, it covers 381 square miles.

A digital conception of eternity and infinity... A "Gift" of life, of which we are the caretakers... A gem for which we the inhabitants may not always appreciate or understand its meaning or worth and too often take for granted.
I used my own hand capture, and digitally added and manipulated the rest to try and present a concept very simple but deeply meaningful yet so unappreciated by so many that each day we destroy it little by little until we're on the brink of no return. As this happens, we are also destroying ourselves.

A digital composite of a field of tall grass with the glow of the sun behind it superimposed with a Native American blended into the background using opacity to fade the figure into the image. The message intention is to care for the earth since it gives us life.
Addendum:
(Sorry... I posted two pieces before I noticed the guideline for only one piece.)

In this long exposure photograph, the sun rises over the ocean while ocean waves wash ashore like mist flowing over the beautiful, rocky shoreline at Coral Cove Park in Tequesta, Florida. Sitting on the shore I watched as the morning sun arose over the ocean's surface and listened to the sound of the surf bath the rocky shoreline. It is during the quiet moments like these that one can hear nature whisper and it is then, we reconnect with the universe.

An imaginative interpretation of my little corner of our good earth ... The beautiful Shenandoah Valley in West Virginia as I see it ...
A brisk, chill stream cuts its way through the hilly landscape of the foothills of the ancient, rounded Blue Ridge Mountains on a glorious autumn day in the Shenandoah Valley. Somewhere the waters will meet up with the beautiful Shenandoah River and travel onward to join with the Potomac, then on to the Chesapeake and the mighty Atlantic herself. Lois Bryan

This is the Carson River which runs next to California Scenic Highway 89 in Alpine County. It was a quiet and peaceful afternoon when we drove through here in 2020. Because of the rampant fires all over the state, not many were traveling, and all the outdoor activities were cancelled. It was almost surreal because this place would normally be full of summer activity.
Don't be careless and start the world on fire! This would have been a much nicer scene without the haze!

I loved this Tree. It lived across the across the country road from us when we lived in Maine. For a dozen years I watched it turn this beautiful golden color every autumn. I always said I'd create a painting of it so I would never forget it and I finally did before we moved back to Arizona. I miss it and hope it's still there.

Gorgeous art & design VIVA!!! Love the yellow, orange and red together! With a hint of lime green. The dark colors in the background sets them off nicely.
Fabulous art & wonderful story Tom! You captured the beautiful colors of the trees in this wonderful painting! So glad you got a chance to paint these beautiful trees!

John Muir's walk from San Francisco to arrive in Yosemite in 1868. He definitely did his part for preservation of wildlands.

This is a statement on how greed and corruption are destroying the environment and the earth with no regard for the future as time runs out for any hope of fixing things even though the solutions are at hand.
I first met Geb in a dream. Stories depict him as a king, bull and other personas but, in my dream he was a serpent.
The world is a precious place and Geb was angry.
Geb was the Egyptian god of the Earth. It was believed in ancient Egypt that Geb's laughter were earthquakes and that he allowed crops to grow. In my dream he had set a time on man.
In my painting of this representational subconscious imagery I show Geb as he was. Proud. Angry. One hand at one with the earth, his charge, and the other holding the card of the Afterlife and an hourglass held together by two snakes...one dark and one light...yin and yang...evil and good...night and day.
The hourglass is running out.
