Sticker Oddity

I notice on some of my stickers that there are these random blobs around the image. Those blobs are not on my Photoshop image. No dots. No missed bits on the background. I've zoomed in...I've erased the entire background even though when I select the image only there is nothing selected in the background. And these blobs do not show up on ANY other products using the same PNG. Anyone else?

The blobs don't show up on other stickers elsewhere. So it looks to be a FAA thing.

okay - I looked , and that's just weird. I haven't noticed anything like than on mine but going to double check some now...

Nope... although I only have a couple that are "cutouts" ... they don't have the spotting. Most of mine are plain square or rectangle shapes...hope someone has an answer for you.

are you sure there isn't anything on the background, that its totally clean and there isn't a drop of faint color? because i'm thinking that you have like a 1% bit left over and it see's that as a thing. i wonder what they would get? would it be a bunch of blob stickers? that might be neat actually.

I can't see ANYTHING Mike...And they don't show up on ANY of the other FAA products. And they don't show up on stickers on other sites. Only on FAA stickers.

did you try flattening it against a black background for contrast? i still think its a haze of some kind. not enough to lasso or see easily. if you can grab just the object as a mask, then reverse it and erase the background, the thought bubbles should go away. i can only assume the stickers are more sensitive to transparent images or something.

i also assume they are png's? not gif files?

there could also be a very tiny spec of background a pixel or two wide, and its adding that extra white border.

You are right Mike! It took some doing because I could not see the debris until I zoomed in 5 times past actual pixels! FAA's stickers must be calibrated to be super duper sensitive. Obviously, they don't need to be that sensitive because all other sites filter debris out and FAA's other products filter debris out. Maybe it can be fixed... But for now, I have to REALLY work on my PNG's to get them 100% clean...not just eye clean!

I was going to type what Mike said, that it had to be on your end. What is odd is that when I have that happen to me the final size is what tips me off, when I export the image. The dimensions are not right and I have to go back and FIND what I missed and delete the random items.

that's the bane of my existence. it looked totally clean then i flatten it, and there are smears of background everywhere. it drives me nuts sometimes.

i just wonder why the resolution for the stickers is so much more hyper than everything else.

when i do a png, i select the main object, reverse and hit erase. often a few times. you can use ctrl and hit the layer for selection, then it will grab the biggest thing. and each time you erase it, it will fade everything else. or you can choose it and contract it by a pixel and it should skip past the bits left over and then you hit erase a few times. still a pain though.

Are you selling stickers, Sharon? (As in are they selling - obviously you have the product enabled.) Mike? Anyone?

my mother sold 3 things the other day. i haven't sold a thing, sticker or otherwise for like a week now. i can only assume they are spending it all in the mall or something. or i have some kind of bad luck cloud over my head.

i think stickers are best as cut outs and i only have a pi collection for like that. sold a sticker on another site though.

I have a couple of mine and the images really need to be square. Rectangular images waste a lot of real estate on the sticker, in addition to what seems to be an excessively wide white border.

I agree about the shape, Doug, and I'm slowly making my way through my galleries adding them one by one. I'm up to about 450 - about 1/6 of what I expect to have eventually. I did have a few pngs on transparent backgrounds that I put up right away, but like Sharon, I found a number of them needed attention. And I have a "square format" gallery so I was able to add most of those in a bulk edit. But otherwise, I'm working through them at the rate of 10-20 per day. I would absolutely NOT be doing this just for the stickers, but there are a number of other things that need to be checked and attended to in edit on most of my images, so I'm doing that "housekeeping" as I go. Haven't sold a one, though :)

The real reason I asked is that after a little spurt of reviews maybe a week to 10 days after they became available, I haven't seen any reviews on them at all.

I have sold some Nikolyn...Not huge sellers yet.
