I love these Edit This challenges! Thanks Abbie!
I added a tulip garden, a wooden sign with the words 'Tulip Garden', a feral cat that we are feeding so as to make it look like Hannah the dog is looking toward the cat as she is walking through the bog. I also added a bit of sun flare to the sun that was behind the trees. I think Hannah would like to make a friend with 'Little Bit' the name we named the feral cat. I gave it a bit of an illustrated effect as well.

The life of the snailsman is very hard. Traveling from house to house is tiring, and it takes such a long time. And they can't carry much, their shells only hold so much. They can't carry a box or a case, because they have no hands. And when they finally get to their destination, it takes forever for someone to answer the door.
Watching this from the outside, it looks like they are doing this all in slow motion, or as if time had suddenly stopped. You can't help but notice these things.

This is Miss Hannah. She's the forums mascot. 5 years ago she slashed her main artery and nearly died. The forum came together and donated money for her care. That's why she's in so many of the edit challenges. They'd known her since a tiny puppy
Her blood brother, Mr Darcy, is in some of the others

Hey Abbie,
I'm now thinking, maybe for an avatar, it should be more of you and less of a frame.
It's all up to you

In the original image Abbie Shores gave us as an edit challenge for January 2021, the stick Miss Hannah was holding, inspired me to create a balancing pole for her to hold which of course needs a high-wire to cross. I had to find an image I had captured of water for her to cross with some distance downward to the water. This is a the stream from Unicorn Lake in the background which was about a half mile from where I was raised in Millington, Maryland.
My background image was digitally stitched from two vertically formatted captures. I figured the balancing pole would provide a nice opportunity to create an OOF (Out Of Frame) image technique. I also decided to add text to the image almost like a poster, hoping my words might further enhance the humor of the subject.
This is my second entry to Abbie's edit challenge contest.

This is Abbie Shore's January 2021 Edit Challenge. In this version I added a foggy effect with sunbeams back-lighting a silhouetted figure waving for the dog's attention. I added a glow and converted the color image to grayscale. This is my third entry to Abbie's January edit this challenge contest.

Love this image, beautiful with Hannah enjoying the flood finding interesting pieces of wood and here she has found her best stick. I added some horses that broke loose from their stable not too far from this area. They ran into the flooded area after the storm and are standing in the water gazing at Hannah, who is not fazed as they stand looking at each other like they know one another. Have painted with different brushes the image digitally.

I'm always intrigued by these contests. They keep me up later than I should be, and force me to look at what one can do with simple non-assuming photos in a completely different light. Here is my first entry. I see it as an old rural pond, rather than a flooded area, and the time of day is critical. The old rusted barrel somehow just found its way down the water, or it was forgotten by the old farmers who once lived there. The dog (Hannah) of course is curious. I also felt this scene is just part of one's life tapestry. Thus the woven burlap filter effect. Now, I'll probably try to create one more completely different image. Thanks, Abbie.

Apparently, mine was cleared for some reason unless I'm not seeing it here, but it's gone. It certainly wasn't outside the subject matter. Were the ones with the most votes kept to narrow the field?

This was an amazing contest with so many outstanding images from a truly beautiful capture of sweet Hannah with her find of that stick in a flooded area by Abbie.. Thank you so much for all that voted for my image "Hannah Finds The Perfect Stick" and for all that voted for others. Lots of creativity from each of you and was great fun. I vote to make Hannah and Mr. Darcy the official Mascots of the Discussion Thread. :-)
Thank you!!
