How Do You Add Tags?

How do you add tags to your artwork? When I submit an image I put keywords in the keyword box, but I don't see a place to put tags. And after the image is submitted, the tag box is empty and I don't see any indication of keywords on the page. Please help!

Hi Teresamarie,

Tags and Keywords are the same thing.

Don't forget to put a comma between each word or phrase as you enter them.

You can go back to the images you already posted - click Edit and add Keywords.

It is best to put as many descriptive keywords you can think of that help describe your image.

Hi David and Diana:
Wow! Thank you so much! It was so easy it was hard....I was not putting in the commas. Now it works.

Vera, I see you are missing keywords on many images. Up to 20 keywords should appear if you add them. After that you may not see more than that but they are still in the system and can be searched.

You do not add these

prints, wall art, abstract art, mixed media, framed prints, canvas prints, photo, photography,

They will not show in searches so mean you have VERY few keywords

On your vintage car you have

prints, wall art, abstract art, mixed media, framed prints, canvas prints, black and white, gift, vintage car. home decor, photo, photography, verasartcollections, vera de gernier

NOBODY will find the work. You need to add what car, architecture, something about the car, building etc

Wow, I have been entering a lot of key words but without the commas and did not realize they weren’t showing up. Going to fix right now. Hope this helps!!

I want to do tags like, moon, pear, midnight moon, fields, water, Carolina moon, moonlight sonata, palette knife, late at night, pear with mountains, man in the moon,
magic pear, mystic pear, red, blue, orange, green, yellow, macaroon moon, teal, rough texture, happy pear, Bartlett pear, midnight pear

Would these types of tags work? I would sure appreciate your advice!
1000 thanks in advance!

Bill you can use those tags that describe what you see in an image but bear in mind what buyers would search. For example I can not imagine anyone would search for pear with mountains or a magic, mystic or happy pear.

A buyer may search for abstract pear or fruit. You can always try doing a search on the site for any keywords and see what comes up from other artists.

It is better to have a good description of the image to attract a lot of fans and put a few keywords that are close to describing your photos well and reach those who are looking for these types of designs and images.

right now that pear only has 3 words and that isn't enough. there are no people who will type in macaroon moon - i don't even know what that is..

pear, fruit, kitchen, cook, baker (related to food), food, moon, moonlight, orange, green, the method you used, crackled, cracked, sensuous curves, sexy fruit

if the title was mystic pear than sure, but as said, no would would ever type that. you can say mountains too, but until it was pointed out, i didn't even notice them.

Bartlett pear is fine, sweet, yummy, healthy, vegan, vegetarian. those things are fine also. a good hearty description about the pear itself helps as well. explain why a pear, what is great about them etc. google picks up on that.

There are only certain tags are showing under the image, it doesn't show the tags as the way I have managed the order, why?

if there are weird names or items that don't have a lot of search finds, you usually won't see it in the tags. like your name, or some foreign location. and i think it only shows like 20 anyway. all the tags will be in there, and every one of those leads outside your site anyway, so its just as well it only shows some.

Thanks Mike, not weird at all, I put art, artwork, and artist at the very beginning, but only artist shows in the middle, the other two have disappeared. Not sure what happened? Tested several, the same result?

artwork, painting, photography etc those are filter words that direct people to just those things. so those will be hidden. not sure about artist.
