Autumn is my favorite time of the year. I love the cool crisp autumn days, and watching the the trees dropping their colorful leaves in preparation for the cold winter.

This is from a series of watercolors which I have been painting since 1979. Many years after the series started, I realized the works are similar in genre to minimalists of 100 years ago such as Kazimir Malevich or Wassily Kandinsky known respectively for suprematism and constructivism. I don't know why I paint them other than there's a deep seated subconscious need to do so. The titles tend toward suggested themes.

After more than a year, all the pieces fell into place. Patience, patience.

"Iridescence - Colorful Gray Tabby Cat" A colorful portrait of a long haired gray tabby cat in bright vibrant rainbow colors, against a background of dark green, blue, purple, and magenta. The colors used in the cat's fur are subtle, almost opalescent or pearlescent. Original painting created with acrylic paints on stretched canvas.

I experimented with various effects with my Sturt Desert Pea illustration. This is the one I decided to go with, a simple Stained Glass Window effect.

Firebirds ... I am working on a series for pillows and other home decor items, focusing on fantasy art. This design can be spun around and it will look the same, but I will be doing work where there is only one side up.
