Just when you think you're been there & done that -- well, you probably have.
Here's a memento of those trials & tribulations we're all subject to.
My concept/original title was well received back in 2011, for a fused art glass piece that was part of a solo show in Quebec.
I've had fun again coming up with this text/art print version.

Although this is not such a beautiful or artistic scene, nowadays memories ( good and bad ) more frequently come back to me, from my time as a 19-20 year old in a war long ago and far away. Water was very important in simply having enough to drink, having to walk in or across small streams or creeks, riding in small boats during the day or night loaded up with heavy weapons, ammunition and gear with no life preservers, or jumping into a dirty river near a base camp just to cool off. All the while having to carry enough good drinking water for me and my Army Scout Dog, when I learned a gallon of water weighs about 8 pounds. I promised myself way back then, that I would never be as thirsty as I was during that period of my life.
Not far from the busy streets of Saigon, many people lived in small villages often located near a river or stream. Families were close with grandparents, uncles, aunts and cousins living in the same house or in others nearby. During the Vietnam War in the late 1960s, my Army unit patrolled this area by night and day, but I preferred walking around in the daylight. Sometimes on these day patrols I even carried my camera and attempted to capture peaceful scenes of everyday village life. Although our squad was armed with all sorts of weaponry, curious children usually appeared to watch us go by. With smiling faces, laughter and out-stretched arms waving hello, I believed that we may all have a good day when I saw these ... Children On The River.

Wave Color
Ocean Wave Beach Art Print from an Original Watercolor Painting. A colorful breaker curls into a tube & crashes onto the shore. Mist from the white foam crest sprays into the blue sky. The swell water is yellow green at top & deepens to blue green at the bottom. Swirls of sea foam adorn the wave barrel & shallow shore.
“Blue Mind” is a term that describes a state of water associated peace. Regularity without monotony, leads your mind into a dreamy state of attention, essential to creativity & problem solving.
Surround yourself with water-associated peace :)

La Fortuna Waterfall
La Fortuna Waterfall Costa Rica, Travel Art Print from an Original Watercolor Painting. The falls pour out from a green jungle & plummet into an aqua blue pool below. It's a short walk from the top, across a bridge & down the hillside steps to reach the canyon floor. At the bottom, you feel the strong breeze of the powerful falls. Swim in the cool water surrounded by lush rain forest vegetation, tropical birds, monkeys & other animals.
The falls are magnificently invigorating & beautiful.
A "must do" while in Costa Rica!

Sycamore Cove Beach California
Ocean Art Print from an Original Watercolor Painting. A translucent blue wave rolls into a cove, curling & crashing along the rocks & sprays water into the air. White sea foam glistens on the sandy shore.
Beautiful Southern California!
This is Sycamore Cove Beach in Point Mugu State Park. It is on the Pacific Coast Highway (Hwy 1), convenient to Oxnard, Ventura, Malibu & Santa Monica.
Perfect for those seeking less crowded beaches & hiking trails.
This spot is so gorgeous that many Hollywood movies use this scenic location for filming.

Two boys trying to catch blue crabs with bait on a string surrounded by a dip-net.
The original photo was taken at Corolla Village in North Carolina's Outer Banks. The image was treated and processed for an oil painting appearance. I thought the composition would go well with this type of artistic effect.

“Foggy Sunrise Reflection” by Patti Deters. A beautiful misty sunrise on Tamarack Lake in northern Minnesota. The fog is so thick the trees on the island peninsula are merely dark shadows. The calm water reflects the sun in a lovely scene as only nature can create. Please enjoy more of my (landscape, waterscape, sunrises, and more) images at http://patti-deters.pixels.com.
