I have no images of Australia to share, but want to say Happy Australia Day! My husband immigrated from Queensland last spring to marry me, so I have a Happy Australian who has made me so happy!
But this is how I remember celebrating the 300th year, Aussie Day, sitting on a 6 foot speaker (in the shade), a Castlemaine XXXX in one hand and a camera in the other
Even the Aussies can't keep Vegemite down, during this eating contest.
We loved our visit to Australia. Over 10 years ago and really hope to go back one day soon. The light, the big skies, the wonderful landscapes and wildlife, the friendly people, the sense of space..... loved it!!
Happy Birthday Australia from another way down yonder in New Orleans. Australia one of a future place place to visit on my bucket list. Have a great celebration!!!
And to keep the Australian animals theme going I have this one. It is so sad that so much wildlife and livestock were killed in the fires recently. One farmer lost 7,000 sheep! How do you cope with that?
When I look back to visiting Australia in 2009, I remember the space, the light and the colours.....Vivid blue skies, red rock and the white bark of the gum trees
