there are no tips, its a collection board for stuff. i find its a pointless waste of time to use that site. some claim sales, i rarely get hits from there, even though my work is pinned a lot there. people like collecting pictures and that's what they do there. most people think of craft projects when they hear it.

but since your driving people around - ask them about pinterest. you can get a customers point of view.

basically though its like here. make collections, add words about the collection, post things with words under the picture. and repeat. its quite boring. it has a terrible search, hard to find anything, and most of your links will end up there. personally i wish the place would vanish.

Thanks Mike, having fished around Pinterest I got the similarities, what sites do you use that you feel gets the best results?

Or is it just the simple case of luck that a buyer see’s what they’re looking for and buys regardless of whom?

Again good advice from Santa, who says Santa is just good for kids lol

there really isn't any one single thing that will help, so you have to be in all of them. google will see your all over the place, and you never know who your customer will be. but i found pinterest to be largely useless. i'm only there so i have a little control where the link goes. too many will take it from google images or just where ever. basically in the end it should be very easy to find you.

Problem is you don't. I was rooting around pinterest last night and found images of mine that did not link back to me in any way. They were just ripped and posted onto the various boards as their own.

The good thing about pinterest is it is a visual / image medium. The bad thing is that people don't go there to find art. As stated, they go there to find recipes, how to refinish a hardwood floor, etc. I'm just about done with them.

I can see where the only thing that would work there is a video with your link hard coded into the video. Very hard for people to rip that and eliminate the link back to your gallery. They can link the video to wherever they want, but if your URL is in the video, ultimately people can find you.
