Came Across Two Videos This Evening

And both might be of help to some on here.

This one is for those that use Photoshop:

AMAZING New Photoshop Feature Adobe Hid From You! - Capture in Libraries

This one for some is obvious but sometimes restating the obvious can be of help:

Where to find inspiration and ideas

Again some might find them of help and useful.

Jeffery! Sifting through Forum topics, when yours caught my eye. The Photoshop Capture feature is amazing -- serendipitous too, as I was working on some designs today for Xmas style material & texture fills. Just nicely back from a break when I viewed the PS video.

Using my own base image/composition elements is always my go to mode -- this is a fantastic tool.

To date -- no issues finding inspiration -- but always open to see what's on offer :) Checking out the 2nd video now. Thanks very much!

Thanks Jeffery. Jesus Ramirez has many instructional videos and I found this one exceptionally helpful. His teaching style is succinct and engaging... highly recommended.

Jesus Ramirez is one of my go-to guys - whenever I search something and see him come up I know the instructions will be good and understandable

Marty Geller/Blue Lightning's one of the best in the biz -- thorough, steady, interesting.

Great voice too!

I did not realize they had added capture to the desktop apps. Thank you. I made an image just to show how I worked out a repeating surface pattern design with it but I was not sure about posting it here for you all to see. if Abbie or another admin approves i will.

I wouldn't see an issue with that as you are sharing it as an example. If nothing else you can share a link to it for us to see what you have done with the pattern.

here you go it took some fiddling around to get a good repeat. but i can see how it could be a good tool for my work.

Neat Denise. I haven't experimented with it just yet. I see yours being used as covers for the book covers here and on the bags. I am sure more but that is what comes to my mind.

Thanks Jeffery, I design fabric too so that is mostly where the surface pattern design stuff goes. But there are uses here too. Thank you for posting the video. I am so far behind the times that I had no clue it was able to be used on my desktop. i tried ,when it came out , to use it on my phone. but i cannot see those tiny details and zooming in and out makes me dizzy. ;-)

That is great and yes I thought about fabric but didn't mention it as we don't offer that feature here just yet. Hum perhaps wallpaper...

Looks great, Denise! Exactly that, Jeffery -- when I posted at the start of this thread, I mentioned I was working on some designs Xmas style material & texture fills.

Have added many of my 'Capture' pieces, to my Xmas designs archive. Have been digitally modeling Xmas gift boxes, bags, etc. Adding the PS Capture mode to my material & texture design processes is very handy. Although fabric yardage isn't on offer in products...there are duvet covers, pillows, tapestries, and myriad items pattern designs can be applied to.

Incorporating iterative patterns as design elements in compositions is intrinsic in my art.
This link is to my personal website, 2011 solo exhibit feature,Self-Similarity, in which I focused entirely on the premise of iteration in design, in a variety of media: stained glass (fused & leaded art glass), traditional acrylic painting, & digital art.

Thanks again to the Manitoba Arts Council for their generous support.

Very interesting! Thanks for sharing, Jeffery. I like what you did there, Denise...gives a good idea of what can be done.

Welcome Peggy.

I just now came across the following and it is etsy related but might be of help for those that use scanners for their original art works. Also just find her voice very soothing and calming.
