When they register I understand they have to show how much business they do each year and are allowed a set discount according to their annual spend.

The designers have to be approved by FAA and need to purchase work in bulk!

Designers are vetted before they can join that site. It can take a few days.

I got the impression that the designer is already an approved user, they just happen to have met in another setting and are working together now.

they need to be vetted, but why in the world would you want to go out of your way to get a huge discount in your own work? the less they know of that site the better i say.

its like when someone says - i want to order from you and i want a dozen 60in prints, and even though they didn't ask, you handed them a coupon for 75% off (its an exaggeration or maybe not?)... if you have them on the line, reel them in, don't give them away.
