I Might Be Crazy

Must say I must be crazy. I live in Southern California and right now and at 8 pm, the humidity is 10 %. Earlier today it was closer to 5%. And I am painting in watercolor! So far, so good. But there is a lot of dry brush and that is usually not my style.

I am sorry for your problem. We are used to much humidity where I live in the South. Right now we are in near-drought conditions.

Janice,

Welcome! Here in Florida, we have YOUR humidity, send me your FEDX number and will overnight it to you! 12:00 pm, a couple of nights ago, 76 degrees felt like 79, and 84% humidity!

Good luck with the fires/wind/power out there....

Martha and Rich. thank you both for the support. I was just so surprised to see how quickly the paint was drying. So many of my techniques just could not be done, forcing me to paint in a different way. Turned out I liked it!

Exactly the reason I moved to SoCal from Tennessee. Cannot stand high humidity.

I'm glad you like the new results, Janice.

Having lived in SoCal for about 10 years - about 30 years back I left - but we had a swamp cooler out in the desert - so painting in the house wasn't too bad - but I painted some out in the desert as well - spray bottle helps.

I agree with the spray bottle with acrylics plein air.
