But to be honest, I only downloaded all this stuff for two of the items.

I am thinking about giving the Paintshop Pro away with the key because I don't need it and will never install it. (I wonder if I can legally give it away)

But, I am interested in seeing what Painter Essentials 6 can do, and at this time I cannot determine if it will run standalone or needs Paintshop Pro to run so I'll need to play with things first.

I am a longtime user of BDJ and have dozens of pieces of software that I received through them over the years, as well as a bunch from GotD.

I believe PE6 acts like a lite less complex version of Painter and it runs standalone. I already own PhotoMirage which can do some sorta cool stuff if you are into animating images. Pinnacle Studio gets decent reviews so I suspect it's usable for those that need a video editor and they say 13 million people use it. I already own a copy of PSP 2019 but I rarely use it for anything beyond some of the effects. For the folks that don't have a ton of image editing software and/or PS (which I do have), then PSP2020 Ultimate can be quite useful. Getting Painter is a steal as you mentioned. I don't have a recent copy of Illustrator and I don't do much with vectors, but I do occasionally work with SVG files so I suppose I can play with Gravit a bit if I get the time.

The plugin and brushes are a bonus.

The Corel EULA has the standard non-transferable mumbo-jumbo but if you don't install it and contact them maybe they will make a transfer/registration exception. Or maybe they won't. ;)

Good of you to donate more than the $25 and I am glad you found some stuff you could use.

Don, thank you so much for sharing this info and link today, I have been interested in obtaining some new editing software for a long while now, but the expense kept me from buying anything. This deal has changed that! I have used older versions of Corel products in the past so I am very comfortable with purchasing their software again. Doing so in this way, had you not shared your knowledge of the site, I would have been hesitant, but I jumped on it because I know you wouldn't steer us wrong. Yes, PE6 is a scaled down version of painter. I have been using various version of painter for years, but still find it cumbersome and bloated. I noticed a lot of good work posted on https://painterfactory.com was done in essentials, so I thought I would have a look at it.

I used Painter a very long time ago, before I started using PS. I love that it came in a paint bucket in those days!

Since I haven't used Painter in years I have no idea what it can do now. Having PS, is there any reason to use Painter? Can it or its plugins do something that PS can't do, or can it do anything better than PS? This sounds like one heck of a deal but don't want to buy it if it will just take up space.

Although it's supposed to be faster, 2019 seems slower than my Painter 2018. Substantial brush lag. But perhaps it's just on the new brushes. I have tweaked configuration. Layout / organization is better, tho.

Kathleen - I also have PS/LR CC and there are many things that Painter can do that PS cannot. Too numerous to list. But there are some things to know:

- You need a fast machine and a good video card. I'm running a 64-bit I7 and a decent nvidia video card and some brushes still lag.

- You need to use a good tablet like a Wacom that is pressure sensitive and an art pen that rotates is a nice plus. I guess a Huion tablet (very low cost on Amazon) will do because it's pressure sensitive, but they do not have an art pen.

- Painter is overwhelming at first. Strong learning curve. You may want to get the bundle, install Paintshop pro with the Painter Essentials addon and start with that first (essentials)

I don't understand the parts that say "pay $1 or more and unlock....", if we pay more then $25 do we get more stuff?

I don't foresee ever getting a tablet, and am not artistic, so other than digital painting and adding special effects to photographs, can it enhance/correct images in natural ways, like PS and PS plugins? Recall when I had tbe old versions of Painter, just used it to play rather than edit photos.

One last question - how huge is the full download? Are we talking multiple gigs? Will it crash PS? I have i7 core, 32 gig RAM and 1tb SSD, but run-of-mill Nvidia card.

Painter is built for digital artists who want to take advantage of the brushes, brush features, and other painting tools. It does not have all of the traditional image editing stuff that Photoshop does, not even close. Painter is for digital artists that paint. It does have some useful stuff but it does not replace Photoshop for traditional editing.

PaintShopPro, which is included in the bundle, is Corel's image editor. The Painter program requires 1GB or so and PSP 2020 Ultimate requires nearly 3GB if you want it. I'm not sure what you are asking about crashing PS. Both programs above are standalone programs that don't require PS or each other to run. Painter 2019 does not use the GPU so a good GPU is not a requirement. It depends on what i7 you have as some i7's are fast and some are not so fast. It's also best to have an SSD as in your system as that is good way to speed things up as well. Some digital artists say painting with Painter is a bit laggier than PS but the brushing is better. Personally, I have my operating system installed on an SSD, my programs installed on a very fast NVME SSD, and my files on bunches of larger old school spindle disks.

If you download this entire bundle it takes up quite a bit of space but it's a lot of software.

It's a Photoshop and Lightroom plugin that allows you to use some of Painter's brush technology in PS and LR. If you have PS you should see it in Filters > Painter > ParticleShop. You should also see GRFX Studio in PS as well in Filters > Auto FX Studio > GRFX Studio.

Hi Lise,

You download the files straight from the companies so you won't need to use Bit Torrent. All of the software is standalone so you don't need to use CS2. The ParticleShop plugin probably won't work with that old version of PS but it does work with PaintShop Pro which is included in the bundle. GRFX Studio will also work with PSP.

You enter the keys in the programs to activate the software.

Which software, Abbie? If you close and reopen the software it may show the registration/activation area or a button to get there to enter your email address and key. If you still don't see it check the menu to see if you can find an option to register/activate in there somewhere.

The good thing about Corel Painter is that it accepts the Photoshop .abr brush format.
One thing which typifies Painter is the eye-watering price of brushes. Most of the .abr
brushes in my Photoshop I got for free. Make sure you go to brusheezy or wherever
and add as many free brushes to Painter as you like.

It'll also take all your Photoshop textures as well.

Don, that's cool that you don't have to put it into Photoshop. We have an ancient 1990s version of Corel which had to be put into Photoshop for filing. So glad you can just make a jpeg or tiff from the program. It's probably light years ahead. Can't wait to use it!

I don't know why a couple of you are having issues as I have downloaded four full bundles and have not had any issues. I am guessing that maybe the Corel licensing server has been overwhelmed with 60K bundles sold over the past 2 weeks that have multiple Corel products that need to be licensed, so maybe something messed up on Corel's end. Everything has always been user-friendly for me --> I download the software, start the installation, and enter the serial number and all was well. This Corel bundle was no exception.

As far as Abbie goes maybe the best option to try (if the key did not work on the direct download from AutoFX) would be to do a good uninstall and try a clean reinstall of PSP from scratch and make sure you do not close the original installer window that has all of the other software installers. Not all 6 programs have to be installed though, only the programs you want.
