Opinions Needed For Juried Photography Contest

At first glance, I like "Road into the Hills", the "succulent" and the "Oyster Mushrooms". Of course I'm partial to macro so you're going to get a lot of different answers, but those get my votes. Very nice!

EDIT: I know what you mean about staring at them and getting confused. I entered a contest in a magazine (yet to be judged) and I had a very hard time narrowing it down as well. You keep second guessing yourself.

I agree with Janine, this isn't easy. Although (for me) Road Into The Hills stands out above the others, ... what a fabulous image!

On the fence with the others one but certainly Room with a View has to be in the mix. I love the texture. The texture in the mushrooms image is nice as well. So maybe I would put that one in the top three as well. The Road to the Hills is nice but the fact the road goes down the center of the images knocks it down a space or two (for me).

I like Oyster Mushrooms.

In order of preference:

1. Room with a View
2. Weathered Wood
3. Road into the Hills/Succulent tied

In this case, I like: Dead, Succulent and Oyster Mushrooms for the textures and composition.

Nice work. My first choice would be Road into the Hills. After wavering a bit, I think my other choices would be Oyster Mushrooms and Succulents in Black and White. Good luck if you go ahead with the contest.

"Road into the Hills" is by far my first choice. What a beautiful and evocative image! I think for the others I'd go with "Succulent" and "Oyster Mushrooms." Landscapes are pretty common so I don't think I'd choose the first image or the last.

The Room has so many elements and feel to it....

The Road left a very strong impression.

The Oyster Mushroom has a nice layered effect and seems to pop.

Smith Rock is one of my personal favorites but I thought it wasn't unique enough. Vernon - I didn't live in the area but visited a couple of times from Chico, CA. We stayed in Bend. I have also visited the Philippines in the 90s, primarily doing field work on the island of Cebu.
