He was such a great photographer and also painter and part of my Travel Art group.

Here is a link to his obituary, it asks for donation to the Canadian Cancer society... it was cancer that took his life:

His son posted this on FB:
This is Greg Harrington writing this (Steve's son) it's with great pain and sorrow to inform everyone that we lost my dad yesterday morning to his battle with cancer. He fought hard right until the end and went peacefully at home with his family here with him. I'm going to be leaving this and his FineArtAmerica page going in his honor. On Wednesday and Thursday there will be an obituary in the Toronto Star as well as an online obituary from the funeral home, I'll add the link as soon as its up. I'm so sorry everyone.

Oh gosh, what unexpected news. My condolences to Steve's entire family. Steve had ties with New Orleans he was a frequent visitor and had many local acquaintances. It was always a pleasure to review Steve's superior photography from street photography and the architecture in and around the New Orleans area. Many of Steve's extraordinary photography had great repeat sales and hopefully the family will continue his legacy marketing his work. Steve had been a long time member of the Fine Art America New Orleans and Louisiana Perspectives Group, also Music CD Cover Designs. He will certainly be missed by everyone. As Nickolyn stated above Steve was a supporter of so many members here at Fine Art America and Pixels, RIP Steve, you will be missed.

WOW, my mom, sister and I are just absolutely blown away by all the love and support from everyone on FAA, Pixels and BP. We had no idea just many people my dad had inspired, encouraged and ended up becoming friends with over the years on here. It really means a lot to us to hear all these wonderful things about him, I really can't thank you all enough.
My dad put so much effort into his photography that it really means the world to me that people enjoy his stuff. I'll be keeping his FAA/Pixels going for everyone to enjoy his art and photography and hopefully keep his legacy going by continuing to do photography myself.
Thank you all again from Greg, Meghan and Mary.

My condolences to Steve's family.
I had the pleasure of meeting Steve and seeing his work here about 2 years ago, while I was running a FAA group, he was 1 of my first members. I truly enjoyed seeing his work and interacting with him here in the FAA community. He was always an active group member, not only in taking part in the group sharing his own images but also in viewing mine and other members work. He regularly would visit my portfolio, even after I no longer ran the group and would comment on the images that he enjoyed the most. I always appreciated the time he would take to show his support. He became a person that could always put a smile on my face whenever I would see a comment from him.
I am very sad to hear about his passing. But Steve and his work will always be remembered, I will never forgot him or the impact he had on me... A wonderfully goodhearted talented man that I found to be truly inspirational.
Rest in peace Steve.

Steve loved his weed pics. He would "ditch shoot" to get the best of them. He also loved New Orleans. He was a good friend and mentor to me. I am so grateful.
And sad at his passing. I did not know that this discussion was set up, so I am late in answering. My condolences to Mary, Greg, and Meghan and Scott and the pups.
