I Want To Cancel Premium Membership

Hello FAA,

I did contact you via "Contact formular" for two times, in December and in January. I didn't get any answer, so I want to ask the community how I can leave my premium membership.
Below is the copy of my request:

Hello to FAA,
I want to end up my premium membership to the date it should be renewed, but I can't find, where to do this.
I don't want to close the whole account, but return to the basic account.
Please give me informations, how to do.
Thanks a lot
.....

I hope someone can help me, thank you!

With kind regards,
Susann

Here is the email on sent you both times

Hello

If you just wish to close a premium account, let us know on the day you wish it closed. That will leave the free account.

If you wish to close the whole thing, log in
Go Behind the Scenes
See CLOSE ACCOUNT

Your account is due in April

I hope that helps.

Before you close the premium account, move the 25 images you want to have for sale into the first 25 positions.

Forgive me for asking, but why do you want to close your premium account? I love your work here!!!!!!

Susann,

I'm knocked over by your diverse yet unique EYE.

Please stay

Edit:

May I ask.....Why the "Big Bird" avatar?

Hello everyone ...

and thank you for your tips and your kind words!
I think something is not working properly with the email notifications.

@ Abbie: Unfortunately, I never received an answer. I've also enabled this post to notify me if someone gives me a reply - nothing. My Email adress is correct.

Why do I want to leave Premium?
Well, it was an attempt to get more attention for my work through more pictures. Until then I had a small sale (already 4 years ago) and it still is the only one.
The larger number of pictures did not lead to more visits to my site.

Of course the sale is not everything and I like FAA somehow, especially the big and - as I can experience now - helpful and friendly community.
But the deciding factor is that I no longer have a credit card and actually do not need. Unfortunately I can not pay membership via PayPal.

My English is not very well, but I hope that I have expressed myself halfway understandable. Google Translator is my friend, but most of all because it makes me laugh with its funny translations. ;-)

@ Roger: Unfortunately I do not understand what you mean with my avatar, respectively with 'Big Bird'?

@ All: Thank you very much for your friendly comments!

Best regards,
Susann

Then your email provider is blocking our emails or they are in your spam folder. The emails are definitely leaving here

more images doesn't mean more views. if you don't tell people you exist here, no one will see it. 5000 views isn't many.

Photography Prints
this will sell, but it only has 12 views, probably bots mostly. you have to tell people your here.

posting then leaving - you won't get attention.

Susann,

RE: Your Avatar

I'm not sure what your profile sketch represents

To me, it looks like a children's TV character , "Big Bird" well known here in the US and I understand around the world

Roger to me it looks like a dog sketch avatar

You have beautiful work! Just wanted to encourage you with that. :)

Many thanks to you all for encouragement!

The main reason why I want to close premium membership ist the fact, that I have no more creditcard and there's no other possibility to pay for this.
I don't understand this fact, because sales are payed via paypal, why not also membership?

@ Abbie:

I sent you my request once again via pm.
I get some emails of FAA, for example the "weekly updates", but not every week and also informations about new messages from the groups that I participate, but also not every time. I don't know why there are such irregularities.

@ Roger:

Oh yes, as some has guessed, it's my dog in the avatar, no bird! But now, since you've asked, I always see a bird ... :-).

@ all:

Have a nice Sunday,
Susann

Abbie Shores

Abbie, could I pay for Susann's membership on my credit card? Then she could pay me back through PayPal.

Mike Savad

just remember that when they have your card, they charge it automatically every year.

wish there was a gift certificate option. and it never made sense that you couldn't pay your way using what they owe us or with paypal.

If wishes were kisses

Yes Peggy but she would have to let you in to add your details

Peggy Collins

Hmmm....yes, a gift certificate option would definitely be a nice addition here. There have been a few times where I wanted to do that for people. Or to be able to pay with PayPal.

That doesn't sound like a good option either, Abbie. Drat! It would be great to solve this for Susann...her artwork is wonderful and it would be a shame for her to lose her pro account.

Mike Savad

he would have a lot of kisses... didn't a while ago, i think it was roger or the other one paid for someone's account. of which i don't think we've seen him either. what did they do, on my overly clear memory?

Thank you Peggy for being so kind! I hope it is not too late to save here account. I agree here art is a good addition to the FAA site.

This has come up before.

It would be nice that if when someone wants to pay for another person's fees, it could be done as simple as possible.

I am not suggesting this is a big issue in the grand scheme of things but it is a big issue for the person that does not have the money but does have great talent.

Just a thought.

Floyd Snyder

"it never made sense that you couldn't pay your way using what they owe us or with PayPal. "

I agree with being able to pay with PayPal but not paying against sales.

That becomes an accounting problem for FAA and the individual seller. I am sure their (Sean's) accountants would resist that just like mine did.

I did that one time with a gallery and my accounts told me in no uncertain terms would they sign off on any official audits, my tax returns or represent me before the IRS if they audited me if did business that way.

It lacks the proper paper tail is what they said. It is also looked at by the IRS as trade or barter and it is one of the bells the red flags that get raised and peeks the interests of tax auditors.

Peggy Collins

Good memory, Mike. I actually remembered once you prodded my memory, that Roger paid for AJ Yoder's account, I believe. I'll send him a message to ask how he did that. AJ seems to have vanished from the scene here.

Floyd, not a problem. You know, just a suggestion, but we could have something like a scholarship here. I seem to remember something like that being offered not too long ago. Anyone who use the break on paying for a year's membership applied in a thread...remember? Anyway, whatever the difficulty, whether it's not having a credit card or not being able to afford a year's membership, it would be great if we could resolve the issue easily.

Steve Clarke

Peggy - well done and I echo Floyd.

I was thinking a while back if FAA could create a fund for struggling talent by for example producing a calendar (or several themed ones), with 'donated' artwork. - or some such, where all proceeds go to the fund - maybe even FAA could chip it their normal cut. Fuzzy idea, I know, but just a seed ...

Or, an in-house 'fund me?' button.

Or, certain images / products could be offered as 'to artist support fund'.

Or maybe just leave it as now and up to each person to decide. I like the idea of a 'fund', but such things get complex and open to abuse etc. But i do like the general idea.

ps : I've hit hard times, where even a $40 payment can no longer be made. It happens.

pps : preparing dinner * so forgive if this already exists (no time to check atm), but a non-monetary way to give support to those we like would be through being able to link them from our own page - favorited artist or image. Maybe already there ? I'd like to be able to do that. 'Hope you liked my works. I suggest you also check these out ...' Maybe as simple as an opt-in to sharing who you follow - 'this artists likes', with image links; optional; but i'd do it; visitors are going to go somewhere.. I wouldn't mind sharing all follows - some would be widely different in style but even if similar, letting the buyer choose what they like best is ok with me.

* Art is important, but food is even more so - ;)

Cool idea, Steve.

Oops, Roger's comments are just above here so I'm going to send him a message now.

Mike Savad

this is why i don't describe people to police, it would sound like that, but it would be enough to jog someone's memory just enough so they can describe it. i think if i recall, did cynthia decker pay for a number of accounts a while back. she had a good year and paid for like 5 of them.

Peggy Collins

That's right, Mike, she did. I'll contact her too to see how she did it. I remembered the thread but I forgot that it was Cynthia who paid for the memberships. I sent messages to Roger and Cynthia asking how they did this.

Lots of good ideas there, Steve.

Steve Clarke

Peggy - the last one - simplest and maybe best - is part from YouTube where though normally all the videos one 'likes', saved as a playlist, are for your benefit, there is an option to make it public; makes sense to me. [Full now, but there's an apple pie in the oven ... cold rainy day; easy to go overboard ; )]

Peggy Collins

Steve, I always thought our favorites here are public. No?

Steve Clarke

Peggy - you're right. So that's good. Knowing this, I'll use it more.

Been playing with cement all weekend - might have restricted by oxygen intake : (

So covered in cement dust that if I popped out into the rain, I'd cast myself right there !

I know now that many things don't work as cement additives; still to try (sugar-free) club soda (sugar above 1% will cause cement to never set; but curious about getting bubbles in there; currently trying out extra-fast setting cement; wasted so much as it set half-way through a pour ; ) like a frozen waterfall). But i digress ...

Have you ever applied to get a Paypal Debit card? You can also get a prepaid credit card from Paypal. Both work like a credit card when buying things online.

Oh my gosh, what did I get started?

Dear ones, I have just skimmed your news, but understand less than the half, due to my bad English skills.
But what I understand makes me speechless!

I am overwhelmed by your helpfulness, your encouragement and your ideas! Thank you very much, especially Peggy for your generous offer!

I'm very busy at the moment and I should take more time to read all the news and to answer. It takes a while with my rudimentary English skills.
But I would like to mention that I can afford the cost of the premium, the lack of possibility of payment is the whole point.

Many of your messages have touched me deeply - thank you!

With best regards from my heart,

Susann

Peggy Collins

Susann, I understood that you can afford this. The problem is that you don't have a credit card to pay now.

Maybe you can do what Loribeth suggested and get a prepaid credit card through PayPal?

I hope you can keep your pro account open.

Well, as I say, if you do want it closed, just let us know on the day

Hi Abbie,

that's all strange and irritating.
I had written to you in my pm that I will let you know the date of closing at the last week in March.
Now I just wanted to upload a picture. This is not possible anymore. I am advised that I have a free account and my upload limit has been reached.
But there are still all pictures in my gallery. I really wanted to take some time to select the remaining 25 images. I hope it does not disappear at once.

Best regards,
Susann

I don't know if they are available where you live, but in the United States, you can get pre-paid debit cards with no bank account or Credit Check at shops like Walmart and Walgreens. Just give the cashier money and they load it onto a Visa or Amex etc that you grab off of the rack. Of course, a PayPal debit card is a good option as mentioned above, I've been using mine for a very long time.

Cheers

Thank you Abbie for the very fast reaction!

Kind regards,
Susann

Thank you Don,

yes, some others suggested this way of paying too, but this card isn't available in Germany.

Best regards,
Susann

Abbie Shores

......or, you could send me the payment via Paypal and I will pay it

I do this for around 5 people now but only under exceptional circumstances

Hi Abbie,

that is very generous of you! Thank you very much!

Peggy has already made me this offer. Unfortunately, I do not understand everything, so I heard from the answers that this possibility could lead to complications?
I do not know how you associate with FAA, but is it easier if you (than Peggy) pay for my account?
I assume that the conditions for premium account remained the same (for example terminable at any time)?
If it means no inconvenience for you, then I accept the offer gladly.

Best regards,
Susann

Careful with “some” prepaid cards. They have restrictions and terms and conditions that can cost you money.

Not sure which ones.

Abbie Shores

It's easier for me as I've already got your admin available to me.

My PayPal email is iam@1stangel.co.uk

Floyd, we don't accept prepaid, only debit. There's a difference

Wow... I started to cry after reading all the posts here.

Susan, you have a wonderful collection of fantastic artwork - please find a way to pay for your FAA premium account and DON'T LEAVE!

I also invite you to be part of my Travel Art group: https://fineartamerica.com/groups/1-travel-art.html I'll be honored to have you as a member :)

Wishing you all the best and success!

I agree with you Tatiana. I have been touched reading all the replies in this discussion. I just became Susanne’s 20th follower and l/f/c one of her pieces of artwork. Some great, caring, and generous people on FAA. One of the reasons I love FAA. It’s an honor and pleasure to rub shoulders with such a beautiful group of artists.

All the best, Susanne. Looking forward to seeing more of your artwork posted.

@ Abbie:

Once again, many thanks to you, Abbie! I do appreciate your offer!
I'll send you the payment at the end of March via PayPal.

@ Tatiana:

Thank you so much for your friendly words and the invitation to your group, which pleases me very much.
I don't travel that often and therefore I am afraid that I can not contribute many interesting pictures.
In any case, I will soon make a trip through your group and perhaps I'll meet you and stay. :-)

@ Janet:

Also to you, Janet, many thanks for the good wishes and for following!
You are absolutely right when you say: "Some great, caring, and generous people on FAA."

I have a question - what does l / f / c mean?

I wish all of you a wonderful weekend,
Susann

When you favorite something it goes on your favorites list. The likes you get supposedly help internal search ranks.

Not on your own images. The favourites only work in search if others are favouriting your work. It works for them if you favourite yours

Likes work also

Hi Susann,

You don't have to travel around the world to have "travel" pictures :)

As soon as you get out of your house, you travel. You have some wonderful landscapes, buildings and more images that I would consider good travel pictures as long as they have the location made visible in the description and/or keywords.

I gave some L/F and comments on some and even posted one of your landscapes in the FB beautiful landscapes group (don't have the address right now) and on Pinterest :)

Thank you so much, Tatiana!

"As soon as you get out of your house, you travel."
As for me: I can even travel on the couch. ;-)

Have a nice Sunday!
