Visitor Count . . . Again . . .
Yes, I know that the visitor count doesn't mean anything to a lot of you. Please don't bother to tell me that or even to explain why it's meaningless. I have a different question.
Today I had two t-shirt sales. I posted the sales announcements on Facebook in such a way that they SHOULD have been opened and looked at by at least a few. In the past, people not only looked at the announcements, they clicked through to the images. But today I watched and watched and watched for that small but noticeable surge of visitors on those two images - or on either of them! - and nothing. Literally nothing. The last "look" they got was the buyer over 10 hours ago. This makes no sense to me.
Then I noticed a comment on one. Aha, I thought. Finally! But the commenter's visit does not show, either. It's as if the visitor count is completely turned off on these. Is that possible? And, if so, why?
As I write this, I seem to remember Abbie's having said that sometimes Sean does turn it off when he's working on the site so things don't slow down too much. I guess I understand it if that is the answer. But it makes me sad :) I really like to see when my very modest marketing efforts are paying off . . . even just a little.
Edit to add: And a full 12 hours later, Kiez Germany finally finds one of them again. Bizarre (not that a bot found it . . . that NO ONE and NOTHING did for 12 hours after a sale despite my marketing it.
