Triva answer: Goose down comforter???
A Buff Orpington Duck preening its feathers on the edge of a lake. The duck is a beautiful colour and contrasts wonderfully with the brown, muddy edge of the lake. The Buff Orpington, or Orpington, is a breed of domestic duck which comes in three colour variations, buff, yellow and brown owing to unstable genes in their development.

I dont know the answer for the bedspread )) Probably goose?
The feathers are one of my most favorites for the macro photography! Have a whole gallery for them "FEATHERS. LIGHT LIFE"

The mighty feather
In Germany there´s an old saying: "Die Feder is schaerfer denn das Schwert" wich means the feather cuts deeper than the sword and is a metapher for the fact that you can inflict more damage with (written) words than cutting someone with a sword. In the old days feathers were used for writing - that´s were the saying originates from. This is a photographed saying so to speak

How about the contrast of a domestic chicken feather (and egg)...
... with those of this Peacock?

I have a bazillion bird shots so I'll try to stick with those who have colorful feathers or interesting feather patterns.
The shimmering feathers of a sassy Costa's Hummingbird and her mate.
Here's a beautiful Wood Duck drake in glorious breeding plumage. His mate is already setting in a tree cavity above the pond.
Wild Wood Duck on the Old Mill Pond
Vermilion Flycatchers live in the southern deserts. This darling little boy somehow ended up in the Northern Sacramento Valley, hundreds of miles outside his range. He staked out a cemetery and stayed for weeks. Here he is, perched on his favorite headstone.

This male White-faced Ibis looked like he was having a hissy. No females in sight, so maybe it was a territorial thing.
Strutting Ibis
Green-winged Teal are skitzy little ducks so it's hard to get close enough to get a shot. Was tickled to get this capture of his iridescent green feathers as he angled toward the sun.
Green-winged Teal on the Pond
Another Green-winged teal drake, perched on a log.
This Cinnamon Teal drake had just mated with his honey. This is his version of lighting a cigarette.

Oh heck, couldn't resist. This is the Before shot!
Ducky Delight
American Bitterns aren't as colorful as some but this on cracked me up so I had to share. He was drumming his little heart out, trying to entice a mate. When he saw me, he did their classic camouflage strategy of stretching tall to blend in with the foliage. It is known as sun gazing. It didn't work.
American Bittern Sun Gazing
House Finches are as common as they get but I think they're underrated. This colorful little male was perched between thorns on a cat's claw mesquite in the Sonora Desert.
Male House Finch Perched on a Branch
This Harris's Hawk is misnamed in the title, due to the fact that we are prevented from using apostrophes in titles. Makes us look STOOPID, but whatever.
This is a female Harris's Hawk. The females are noticeably larger and their clans are matriarchal. Their families hunt together.

This wild male Red-Shafted Northern Flicker is foraging for insects at the edge of a pond in the Owens Valley of Eastern California.
American Wigeons are among my favorite waterfowl. They tend to be way more mellow than other little wild ducks. This drake looked so peaceful as he cruised along.
American Wigeon in Winter
Anna's Hummingbirds can be quite territorial but these two males were more interested in what I was up to.
Anna's Hummingbirds in Flight
This colorful little falcon is an adult female American Kestrel. Kestrels are the smallest raptor but they are relentless predators who feed on sparrows, lizards, little snakes, gophers and lots of juicy insects. She had just polished off a fat potato bug.
American Kestrel on a Wire
This male Meadowlark is struttin' his stuff for a flock of females who are way more interested in foraging than breeding.

To answer Abbie's TRIVIA question::
Without looking up/at the answer, my guess is... goose down comforter (?)
God's creation in featherwork is truly amazing and varied.
The well-appointed plumage of a male California quail, sporting his multi-faceted feathers:
A great blue heron, water streaming from its feet, illustrates the wonderful promise in Psalm 91:4:: "God will cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you will find refuge. His faithfulness is body armor and shield."
Mom loved watching hummingbirds. After her graduation to heaven, I believe God sent this beautiful hummer as His love note of comfort for me. This sweet bird came within three feet of the camera lens::
This hummingbird shows its backside in the backyard by the feeder in this night portrait::
...And a close-up of the gorgeous iridescent feathers of this male Anna's hummingbird:
A common house sparrow, the most widely distributed bird in the world, makes an adorable and precious illustration for the comforting passage in Matthew 10:29,31. This shows YOU are SPECIAL in God's sight::
And EGRETS....
This great egret made a short flight right in front of me... God allowed me to capture this magnificent bird in this composite image::
And a great egret taking flight... this image was taken during a recent walk, after my dear Mother went to be with Jesus in heaven... Am comforted Mom received Jesus into her heart, and forever grateful she led me to Christ. She is now flying with the angels. Looking forward to that Great Day when we will be reunited in the magnificent presence of our Lord, Savior, Messiah and soon coming King, Jesus.... Amen.

A Brazilian beauty - Jenday Conure - showing off her feathers -
This is my favorite - Victoria, an Eclectus, has the most remarkable feathers, not just the colors of red to violet blue and orange, but her maroon wings have small strands of gold feathers that give her a translucent glow -
And another - quite a display from Victoria, who has an attitude to match!

I have a bunch too, but only going to post one to save on the length of this thread.

One of a series of my images of the beautiful mandarin duck currently in residence at Central Park NYC. The rainbow of colors in his feather plumage has visitors flocking from miles around to get a glimpse of him. Hopefully he has enough of an undercoating of warm down feathers to keep him warm.
Nothing better than a goose down comforter or jacket for us humans to beat the frigid winter chill.

How about this unusual angle of a Peacock...
