That s the image you loaded.

I would open the image again in an editor and save it under a new filename. Something is wrong with the way it is being saved

Thank you Abbie! Makes sense. I'll try it. Best Regards Phyllis Dell

some of your work is long and thin, so it won't ever fit on the the items. plus they are on the small side, so that can be an issue.

Art Prints
this isn't in focus and is very small. you should scan these in or get someone to help you photograph it right. and after that, add more keywords.

another image is like 640px which is very small.

Yes Mike the first problem I'm still working on. They are 4x12 but still should just lay center to the print size. I also realized I uploaded the wrong image for the Woman by the Window painting. Have 2 of those. .Have these paintings on other sights but all requirements are different. Thanks for yours and Abbie's help.

Hi Abbie,
More questions! :) Although I myself print and sell these more narrow and long prints but as Mike said they really don't fit the standard requirements for FAA. They do however work with the spiral notebook, etc, so do you think I could leave them up for that, or no? Will add and take away artwork that doesn't work. Also besides me promoting through my FB, Instagram or other, does a new artwork that I upload always seen through the FFA family? How do I get more exposure? Thanks so much!

Hello

The image size will depend on the pixels size of the image you took, less any cropping you have done. We then create the prints that will fit that size and less, if you have priced them.

For products see the VIEW TEMPLATE under each product area on the edit page or my list at the bottom of this email

When you upload an image, our software takes the longer dimension and fits it to the following sizes:

8 inches
10 inches
12 inches
14 inches
16 inches
20 inches
etc...

The smaller dimension is then scaled proportionally to maintain the aspect ratio of your image.

You are setting your prices based on the size of the longest dimension

4800 pixels is 48" at 100ppi So you can work out your sizes really before even uploading. Do not ever change your ppi as you do not need to.

We allow 25mb only and you can change the compression as low as 10 before it hurts the image

NEVER enlarge your images (change the pixel size to a larger one) as that degrades the print quality and we will refuse to print and, if your images are too large file size, you can compress to 10 in Photoshop before losing quality

If you sell an image we will refuse to print if the image shows.......

Pixellation
Blockiness
Bad cropping
Blurriness not in keeping with the image (ie not meant to be there)
normal font signature (Arial, Times New Roman etc)
signature cropped half off the image
large watermarks
noticeable camera flash
Upsized images

We do not do quality control until you sell so, it is your responsibility to quality control your images carefully before uploading. You do this by zooming in a photo editor to 100% and then carefully going over the image, checking for the above defects

We require Adobe RGB or sRGB and do not accept CMYK or ProPhoto

Here are some examples for you http://fineartamerica.com/showmessages.php?messageid=2704747

If you choose not to sell something, leave the space for markup totally blank. Not even a space.

Search pages (such as particular product searches) take 24 hours after the prices added to be shown

Uploading images on Fine Art America is half of the work. The other half is marketing. Fine Art America is a platform for artists and photographers to run their own businesses. The artists that are successful on FAA do outside marketing to promote their work and we offer a handful of different marketing tools to help you e.g. Shopping Cart Widget, Email Campaign, etc. So I would definitely take a look at these features (found 'Behind the Scenes') to help get some sort of marketing plan in action.

Being an active member on Fine Art America is also a plus - we have a very large community of artists and photographers. 'Favouriting' images, leaving comments, participating in discussion forums, etc., are big ways to get your work noticed! I would also look into uploading more images.

We have over 7 million images listed on Fine Art America, so if there is no marketing and promotion done on your end, your images will get lost in the mix. If you follow all of these suggestions you will appear higher and more often in the search engine.

We cannot tell why some sell and why some do not so we cannot give that kind of advice. However, here are some great posts on the forum and elsewhere about marketing your work. Please log in to view some of them

Abbie,

I don't feel my images work well on a bedspread , but do fit with many of the others. Is there a way to delete that item? Or what do I do? Thanks

Do not add your markup. Do not even add a space or an 0. Leave totally alone.

Ok.

Thanks!
