Hi Carmen...
Brizo is an ancient Greek goddess who was known as the protector of mariners, sailors, and fishermen. She was worshipped primarily by the women of Delos, who set out food offerings in vessels shaped like boats. How the boats of sacrificial items was delivered to Brizo is unknown. The only thing not sacrificed to Brizo was fish as it was considered an act that would attract bad luck; this goddess' offerings consisted of a variety of items, all of which were offered in hopes for protection, prosperity, well-being, or abundance. Brizo was also known as a prophet specializing in the interpretation of dreams

This original series is inspired by memories of my 1996 journey to Churchill, on Hudson Bay, Manitoba,Canada.
I was invited as a participating artist in the 'Prairie Visions' group exhibition, sponsored by the Manitoba Arts Council.
700 miles (1,100 kms) north of my home in Manitoba, the town of Churchill, the "Polar Bear Capital of the World"
-- famous for the polar bears that come inland in the fall -- is only accessible by train or airplane.
Beluga whale watching, and myriad species of migratory birds are also Churchill attractions.
The breathtaking displays of the Northern Lights,or Aurora Borealis, are seared in my memory.
Experiencing the pristine beauty of Churchill was a dream come true.

Original watercolor painting, 'Aspen with Autumn Glow', by Lynn Cyrus / Cascade Colors. This piece was inspired by a morning hike in the Colorado Rocky Mountains in mid September, when some of the aspen groves were at peak color with vivid reds, oranges, and golden yellows. At one point, I was looking into the sunlight and the middle section of the forest in the background was lit up.

"Tram Ride to the Top - (I took this tram ride and I gotta tell y'all, I was scared at first, but after I got to the top, the view was spectacular} Great monuments inspire you to explore new heights. Precious few take you there. The unique tram will lift you 630 feet up to the top of the tallest man-made monument in the United States. and Old Courthouse
Stand in the footsteps of American heroes at this beautifully restored federal courthouse. The site of several pivotal cases, the Old Courthouse is where the enslaved Dred and Harriet Scott sued for their freedom and Virginia Minor fought for women’s right to vote" - gatewayarch.com

I had not painted in roughly 12 years, always knew I had more potential in it... just never knew what to paint. One night in 2012 I woke up to the most vivid dream, (could not fall asleep again until I sketched it out)... woke up the next morning and started working. Made an easel under my bed (had to lift the bed to get to it), had never painted people or, really, anything involved in the photo. After six years, through college, marriage, work, moving, kids... life... I am proud to say I have finished it. During that time I have had plenty more thoughts I am working on (at a much faster pace). Just not sure what I painted is print-worthy :/ I think a comment on thoughts would be just as good and truly appreciated :)

After a couple of false starts, I now have my premium account set-up and the first collection of outcomes loaded.
I won't bombard you with all fifteen outcomes, but here are two examples:
These outcomes are derived from a series of TRANSIENT WALL INSTALLATIONS made this past summer. I see each photograph as an entirely new perspective on the original installation. To see the installation, you had to be there. To see the photograph you can view a small copy on-screen, or enjoy a much larger version in print. The choice is yours.

Country Autumn...... Abbie Shores Edit 6 Contest.
Autumn is my favorite time of the year. I love driving the back roads and discovering new places. There are apple orchards and pumpkin farms to delight the eye. I often stop and pick my own apples to make a fresh delicious apple pie.
One day I was driving on a country road in Pennsylvania, and saw three beautiful quilts hanging on a clothesline. I stopped and knocked on the porch door of a lovely country home. A friendly little old lady came out, and I asked her if her quilts were for sale. She invited me inside to show me more quilts, but I bought the three hanging on the clothesline.
Pink Beauties...... Abbie Shores Edit 6 Contest.
A beautiful lady lives in this big mansion, and her favorite rose is the Pink Damask Rose. This is a close up of a Pink Damask Rose growing at the mansion garden behind a metal fence. There are over thirty varieties of rose bushes in the garden. Bouquets of fresh roses are placed throughout the mansion during the rose blooming season.
