Image Thread- Found Images

This thread is for found images.

As has been discussed and as per the recent contest (Now in voting Tree Spirits, Green Man Jack In The Green (whether the admin of that contest is a Jethro Tull fan or not is a side issue)

Not long ago there was a thread about the artist eye assigning meaning to random growth of plants and flowers and trees and clouds such that they represent elephants and Gnomes and dragons and omens and portents.

Importantly, artists are often imbuing subtext to their works. Things drawn to look like one thing look like something completely different when seen from a different distance. Or with crossed eyes.

Other times the artist will step back from the canvas and see that there was a whole different picture being painted than the one they thought they were working on. Sometimes the artist isn't the one who sees it, but there is it is, big as life.

Sometimes it is one's muse, making her cameo in your work.

That's what we're looking for here.

Those images that might just be lichen, or it might be two guys standing there. It might be the moon, or it might be something else.

It's an image thread so don't forget to make your image BIG if you don't know how just ask, but the answer is changing the size numbers in your code. The idea is to be seen.

One image per post, but post at will.

Not sure this is what you're looking for Uther, but is closest I have.

Another FAA member left a comment on it saying, "It almost seems like a live creature in the depths of the ocean."

BTW "It" is a water stain on our patio concrete. :o)

Uther, my dear friend - smokin´ what? bad? hot? great? ;o)

Now that we speak about the smoke images -here´s one that fit´s to the most strange experience i had in my entire live just a short while ago.

Photography Prints

i was on my terrace enjoying the evening and a german beer or two and suddenly realized that something had changed - i looked around, looked at the house and -you may beleve it or not, stone me to death or not- felt as if the presence of my parents had diminished. It may have been a push of awareness that thy´re gone or really just an aura fading - i have no explaination for that - it just felt it. Their presence is not completely gone but it´s not the same as before. Really don´t know what to make of it. Part of me is happy - part of me is sad.

Here's my Concrete Ally Oop as The New Yorker"s Eustace Tilley...

For those who don't know who Ally Oop is :

Alley Oop is a syndicated comic strip, created in 1932 by American cartoonist V. T. Hamlin,
who wrote and drew the popular and influential strip through four decades for Newspaper Enterprise Association.
Hamlin introduced an engaging cast of characters, and his story lines entertained with a combination of adventure, fantasy and humor.

Alley Oop, the strip's title character, was a sturdy citizen in the prehistoric kingdom of Moo.

And Eustace Tilley was on the Cover of the first issue of The New Yorker Magazine 1925, created by Rea Irvin

and here's your comment...................thanks so much for your insight and interest.

Uther Pendraggin

there is a lot of narrative here. Including the one where death is holding up the newspaper as though in a "proof of life" photo, but I think he's trying to convince the guy to the left that he's actually dead. Dichotomy indeed. Very fun!

I was experimenting with watercolor inks, dropping the pigments on a slightly wet canvas instead of using watercolor paper.
Tilting the canvas in various directions to encourage some of the colors to mix, the painting almost created itself with a little artistic guidance.

VIVA, it seems insufficient to refer to you as my friend, Perfect timing for a Statue Of Liberty image, as well! ugh...

Aron, Welcome. Thank you for participating. Piece of advice? When in an image thread, take ADVANTAGE, blow your images UP. Such a beautiful landscape when you paste the code, find where Height and Width specs are and just change them. Divide the larger number into 1000(999) and then multiply the smaller number by that number so you keep the same ratio.

Art Prints

This "Found image" is what hit me when I was dancing the camera in front of a string of LEDs. I'll credit my muses with the result. It's quite possible they knew what was coming. I think it has been well demonstrated here that nature has a greater control of our actions and perceptions than we think. Image and meaning show up in ways and places we didn't expect. How far of a leap is it to the idea that there are intensions beyond our own?

I will close this with the definitive answer to that.

I had a period of very heavy communication. I wondered out loud and then I said out loud, and I asked directly if this was "reality" that was contacting me... (see you @ 4)

Uther Pendraggin

I had a period of very heavy communication. I wondered out loud and then I said out loud, and I asked directly if this was "reality" that was contacting me...

My wife and I were driving to one of our favorite places. It's a lobster shack named The Water's Edge in Phippsburg, ME. It is located at the edge of the water, oddly enough. and the road to it follows... follows... In truth I have no idea why the road goes the way it does, but it does. there are blind curves a plenty. By this point in the Summer I had her admitting that there was something strange going on. We had been on the road lots of times, and my wife had a sportster and a foot to go with it. She liked to whip around corners. OK.

I mentioned that maybe we would want to just be aware because you know, our luck there'll be a moose around the bend or some local will be meandering. Just an offhand comment. I'm not a side car driver. But the other truth is that we never had an incident on that ride. Nearly never saw a living person aside from people playing golf at the resort (Sebasco Estates) there.

Around a curve and up the hill and there right in the road were chickens as a little child was following them across the street. Why'd the chicken cross the street? There was a toddler aged child chasing it. Fortunately "reality" had given us a warning and we were prepared. Nobody was killed that day.

So, I can't help but ask, "Is this reality @&^#$in' with me?" Are they trying to send me a message?

So we got to the restaurant and pulled into our parking space (did I mention we go there?) I opened the door of the low slung auto (I'm 6'1" BTW) and I ducked to get out and as I lift my head out of the car. This is what I can't avoid seeing:

Photography Prints

What is reality other than IS? They're the same thing. Personally, I've never seen clouds spell out words, and that is some strange wind to make an S.

If this was a one off, I could dismiss it. It isn't/wasn't. I'm very happy to know this. I hope you are too.

I hope you continue to search out the found images. And make them because even making them reminds the mind to stretch.

Just one more....

Found in a Lobster trap I saved after Hurricane Jose hit the Maine Coast in 2017. I threw him into the ocean. If he could hide until his claws grew back he'd be fine. The next day I found a set of lobster claws no less than 7 inches for the crusher an 8 for the pincher that a monster sized lobster had lost in the storm. They were delicious.
