Custom Domain Security

Just wondering if there are any plans to address custom domain security. With the prominent "not secure" in the URL, they're almost useless at this point, especially if we expect people to make financial transactions through them.

For what it's worth, the custom domain functionality was a major feature for me here, and a significant part of the reason I signed up.

I'm sorry. Not this year probably.

Mine is forwarded

I have also forwarded my domain name to the pixels URL. It takes a second to do and as you said "With the prominent "not secure" in the URL, they're almost useless at this point,"

I prefer a secure site experience for visitors and don't think it matters to others that the URL is forwarded.

At least I can use my domain name on business cards and for advertising, etc

Joseph - I do not understand this.

I thought our sites were secure. My AW has a https, I do not forward but my .com is secure. When I checked your AW I got: https://joseph-westrupp.pixels.com/

Doesn't the s and the closed lock mean it is secure? Are you saying it is sometimes secure and sometimes not?

Val if you use a custom domain name that you own and have it point directly to your AW it is not a secure site. It becomes secure when you go to check out and it transfers to a regular FAA secure check out page. If you set up you custom domain to forward to your AW site then it is secure on all pages. The way mine is set up it is not secure. To the best of my knowledge I never had a sale from my AW

Bradford - Thank you! I think I understand ...there is a difference between pointing and forwarding. What I have done is I have a page titled galleries on my own website which takes you to the AW collection page, which I have always assumed keeps everything secure.

Val, that Pixels address isn't my custom site, the one below is.

Thanks for the replies. It's unfortunate, forwarding is a pretty ugly remedy. Maybe not as bad as the security notice, but still a no-no.

Val, the pixels URL IS secure, but using our own domain names means it is NOT secure. Therefore you can forward your domain name if you have one.

Maybe I get it.

Our AW is Pixels.com but if we forward our domain name it duplicates the pixles.com to be whatever name.com so then we still have pixels.com plus our name.com.

The dropdown in contact from FAA will always direct you to pixels.com

And having purchased a security certificate for whatever name .com will still not make it secure if we forward?

I have been trying to figure this out for a while. Thank you1

If you are only going to sell household and prints, your link is https://fineartamerica.com/profiles/valarie.html

If however you wish to sell everything, use https://pixels.com/profiles/valarie.html

If you have, or get, a premium account, your link is, https://valarie.pixels.com

ALL SECURE

If you buy an outside domain ... say http://valarie.com

Not secure

If you point it to an :// account it will throw an error.

If you forward it, it will not but people will click http://valarie.com and end up on one of the others

I see no issue with that and use http://isabellashores.com (click then look in the address bar)

However, my main domain is http://yoursbyshores.com/shop (click that and look on the page) That and the number of images is why I purchase premium

Abbie - Thank you for that!!! I think I've got it.

I tried forwarding at one point and I could not get it to work all the time so decided to do this https://www.valarieart.com/ and just added a page titled gallery which opens my AW collections page on a new tab. The dot com needs a lot of work so hope people just click to the gallery and forget about the other.
