Today is the 6th anniversary of my joining this family of artists. It marks the beginning of my artistic years. I retired to North Carolina in 2010 and took up photography as a hobby. It has grown since then into all kinds of artistic experiments.
I have been visited over 626,000 times, mostly by bots of course. I have sold 150 different images, some several times, to real people (not bots).
I have met some incredible people here and learned so much from you. I have celebrated your successes and mourned the ones we have lost.
I hope I have many more years here with all y'all. Thank you for being a friend (sing it!)
Congratulations , John. A lovely , thoughtful post, and, have to agree, this is a family of like minds, caring compatriots. I count my nine years plus, as my life's comfort zone, too. Carry on, and wishing you continued fulfillment in Art.
A good friend of mine's wife at the time, asked me about retirement and what I planned to do. "Because 40 years is a long time to sit on your ass with a fishing pole."
Congratulations, John. I joined this community one day after you, back in 2012. It has, indeed, been a fun six years (from tomorrow, in my case) since I stumbled here.
