Christ Painting By Leonardo Da Vinci Sells For Record $450m

Poor old Leonardo - he never saw that much money while he was alive.

Well, I guess my clients from last week's friend didn't get it. He was only willing to go to $150 million. :-)

Pretty outrageous!

The board has a major crack. It has been Mickey Moused together as a repair. But what is interesting as you face the image, over the right hand eye da Vince with his palm smudged the paint into place to soften the area over Christ's eye.

The ultra-rich are looking for new places to put their money, and they've been pushing the art market into the stratosphere for several years now.

Who thinks that is what Christ looks like? raise your hand...

There was an article recently about an art gallery in Vienna that carries only top-quality forgeries of famous works. Many art experts have trouble declaring them as forgeries. It was not about legalities but about the talents of many unknown painters.

I thought of that when I heard about the $450M sale....perhaps the original is still somewhere else! :)

Must be good money in the Russian Oligarch business.

Now some experts are questioning the painting's authenticity. Imagine paying all that money for a fraud. Wonder if the buyer can get his/her money back?
