Straight out of camera shot of the magnificent golden aspens in the Eastern Sierra Nevada foothills, October 2017. As a San Francisco Bay Area resident, I rarely see autumn color as spectacular as this in person. Truly a treat to see and share.

A whimsical treatment of an autumn woodland

My first digital camera was a Nikon D1, a whopping 2.74 megapixels that cost me $5000 just for the body. I bought it to do headshots in my Manhattan studio, but before it could earn it's keep 9/11 happened and I was forced to close down. I took it with me on a few trips, naively thinking that it was going to be acceptable for stock images for the web at least. So I have a small collection of images from Maine and California shot with it that I've had living on my RAID for years and didn't want to dump but didn't have an idea what I could do with them.

Went to look through them to find a couple of images for a throw back Thursday post on Facebook, saw a bunch of images that I liked and decided to work on them with some Topaz filters.

I think I can get some salable stuff out of this. Yeah new technology.

This photo was taken at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Montgomery County PA.

For the first time in a long while I went on a long distance trail ride east of Tucson stopping along the way and playing with my newest photography toy.

I think Castle Mountain is my favorite mountain in Banff National Park. It does not matter what time of the year I drive by it; always seems magnificent to me. This particular morning, a couple of weeks ago, I went early in the morning hoping to catch some light illuminating the mountain. It was cloudier than expected, but I got a tiny bit of light. I like the composition of the image with the rocks, snow, and the reflection on the water.

I just shot this one this afternoon. I was pickin' on this ol' guitar and looked out the back window at the fallen leaves and noticed many of them had the colors of the guitar. After shooing dozens of frames I picked up a handful of leaves, almost as an afterthought, and tossed them on the guitar. The last shot was the best of all...



I'm adding a "Music" gallery/collection to my A/W - so I will be adding more instrument-in-location photos.

A display at CBMM (Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum) in Saint Michaels, Maryland.
Two vintage wooden kayaks on a storage rack. I added textures to reinforce the vintage appeal.

Taken during an all too brief two day visit to Barcelona this month. I will be sure to return for a longer stay in this great city in the future.This is an old railway station that first opened in 1862 and closed in 1972. Now it is used as a bus station, police station and sports venue.

I took these photographs at Shark Valley in the Everglades of the Great Blue Egret!

Just uploaded a rainy day spring time capture of the Japanese Stroll Garden in Springfield MO.

When I first arrived at the lake the sun was completely obscured by the fog but after a few minutes it broke through giving the sunrise this amazingly eerie feeling.
