I hope it's okay if I use this thread to give some suggestions how some of you could do better on Pinterest. Fine? Okay let's go:

Descriptions! Guys and gals, this is important! Some of you don't have a description on your pins. How do you want to be found? Pinterest is one of the biggest search engines on this planet. Board and profile descriptions are important too. Even your business name is. You want to be found in Pinterest search, this in one of the basics.

In one of the free lessons of my course I show you step by step how to use Pinterest Guided Search to come up with great descriptions. Speaking of the course: Listen, you don't have to buy it, I totally get it that it's not for everybody and this discussion is no promo thread but you might at least check out the free lessons, there is really valuable content that will help you lay the foundation. Just one example: please be sure to use a business account, not a personal one! Why this is important and how to convert a personal account is described in Chapter 2, Lesson 1 (free lesson, you just have to register for the course platform).

I wanted to do this for long time but I haven't participated in Pinterest for a while, and I was not sure anymore about how to handle it...

In the past I have studied almost every information they gave us, and I also had some other guides. Now, I will download your free teachings as well, at least to start (or restart) with ;)

As I said I haven't participated in Pinterest for about 1 year maybe... but I keep receiving e-mails with my pictures being saved by others - this gives me quite a bit of traffic, even though I don't so anything :) Is this not nice? Yes I love Pinterest! Ha, ha...

I see that they have made some changes though... no more likes, no more comments. The likes were very convenient, but maybe not that effective.

You are mentioning about the description of the site and I'd like to ad that also the descriptions of the boards and pictures themselves are important.

One thing I was neglecting in the beginning where these boards - it is important that after you create one, to go to edit it and fill the fields they are asking: The description - a good and to the point one is essential, but also you have to choose from their list the category which the board belongs to (is it travel, art, home decor, etc)

Yes, this is one of the really amazing things regarding Pinterest. The half-life of a Pinterest Pin (the time in which it earns half of the overall engagement, like clicks and view) is 3.5 months - about 1,600 times longer than a Facebook post!

Venetia: your pins don't have descriptions, this means nobody will find them in search! Feel free to read my post above :-)
