I Have Only Been On Fb Twice In The Last 5 Days-too Addicting

I am trying to break my addiction to FB.. I like to see whats trending in the news and then I start scrolling and scrolling and scrolling. I see what other people are supposedly doing and I "like" the activity. Next thing you know, Its an hour later and I still have not done what I want too..And I continue scrolling and scrolling, until finally I have to pee.

Though I'm no longer on FB, I do think it has to do with any SM platform. Set a time limit is the best method I've found. The fastest way to success is to replace bad habits with good habits.

SM is the great procrastinator enabler.

Jon,
The easiest way to stop watching what others are doing in real life is to decide to do something real in your life instead ;)

It ain't just SM, facebook or any other - it's the internet - that computer, cell phone, whatever that you are hooked into. Met a family the other day - man and his wife and 4 children - no cell phone, no electronic toy, go outside and play, let's go fishing, or get your bikes and let's go for a ride. It's even FAA/Pixels - time just flies by and we are so absorbed we forget those things which need doing, which we intend or intended to do - and then it's bed time - there perhaps you fold up your legs and have your tablet or lap top right in bed with you - worse than having a cat or dog. The only way you could set time limits is to have a mechanism in the machine you are hooked to that would simply shut you down - no matter what you were doing after a specified time.

Staring at a screen and clicking buttons is the path of least resistance. It's not that the content is really all that engrossing, (not usually anyway) it's just that it's easier to do than just about anything else and still be entertained.

Social Media is a tool that comes at a cost.
That cost should be well considered and calculated as a business expense.

A lot of valuable resources have been wasted on tools that had questionable value.
Some tools work better for some than others.

Too often we believe that if we can derive a value or benefit from a tool, no matter how insignificant, it is a worthy investment.
