I was in Wickenburg, Arizona, a quaint small town about 54 miles northwest of Phoenix, when I came across this alley in a residential area near downtown and did this plein air acrylic painting.

No, the cats weren't there when I was painting. I added them later in my studio to add something living (besides the cactus on the right) to the image and thus was born the title for this piece.

Adorable welsh sheep dog reaching up to the wooden gate for affection, caught my eye on our travels in Wales United Kingdom.

Gladiolus Dreams of Summertime is my latest pastel artwork. The softness is evocative of a dream like summer garden.

Look and look again… like paper stacked loosely on edge, the visable surface disappearing back behind each overlapping sheet, or, by a simple shift of focus, soft pillowing curves, bumped up against one another; shift focus again, and ultra-thin raised relief lines appear, casting deep sinuous shadows to the west.

Just posted this today. Here's to the wine lovers all over the world.
