Okay? Not sure I understand what it is you are asking?

i don't get why you thought that a memorial day would attract any kind of attention. its a boring holiday, and its only covers the US. if you don't come back to a thread, it will die. plagiarism is a hotter topic that covers more people, and if you closed it, people will click on it wondering why you closed it. and if your known for hit and run subjects, where you don't come back and then close it right away, less people will look or join in.

and yes, keywords matter, but that isn't a keyword its a title, and those matter.

but none of these have to do with selling art.

i found your message on page 4. no one goes to page 4. it looked like you were advertising your work and didn't ask a question, which is what the forum is for. so people glanced at it and then moved on. no one replied, you didn't come back for the 10 days that it was up and so it faded. you have to come back to threads if you want it to stay. as for the other one - because people found the subject interesting, another thread was opened about that same subject and referenced it. there was no need to shut it down. usually there isn't a need to close any thread unless its totally runs its course.

The title of this has nothing to do with the OP - you need to close it and or change the title.

I have an image that has nearly 2K views - not a single comment nor has anyone bought it. go figure.

Mike, I think that's why we love our Mike Savad...for the candid truth of things. lol

Tony, this thread is already on the way to more views.... Next post something like "How to get 50 sales in 24 hours" and watch the eyeballs rolling in.... Gossip newspapers employ some real title artists, observe them, and your questions will be answered.

Mike Savad

try this title:

I love to shoot naked, how about you?

i promise you, you will get people coming in for a long long time.

newspapers do it all the time, a catchy title grabs more eyes.

I guess I don.t think Memorial Day is a boring Holiday. I don;t think many servicemen who made a great sacrifice would think so. I guess I.m from a different generation. The Greatest Generation....Memorial could mean lets honor all veteran worldwide.Mike..I guess you did not read the saying!!!

It is a solemn holiday Tony. One of reverence.

Of course there are those who wish to choose a piece of artwork that honors the memory of those who have been lost in their service.

The plagiarism title just gets more attention - because everyone wonders if it was one of their pieces that copyright was violated.

the reality is - you didn't really leave that thread to be answered. it was more of a statement and you advertising something, rather than wanting a response. and its not like you tried to bump it at all. it was abandoned.

no i didn't bother reading it. don't care for reading, more so for anonymous sayings. and it was hard to read, the font is a bit fuzzy to read.

in any case, if you want views, and you want a response, you have to tell people what you want to get out of that thread. its a discussion. but we can't post art unless we have permission.

As a veteran, I appreciate the thought and I'm always up to honor those who gave all. But to be honest I don't think I ever saw your post. If it seemed self serving I would ignore it. Many conversations are more about the writer so I tend to take a quick look but I bypass commenting.

Thank you for thinking of Vets. There are many out there that could use your appreciation. Go find one today.

I don't follow these co versions so don't expect me to reply.

Memorial Day - very meaningful indeed.

But not very interesting to talk about.

Memorial Day is boring? How could you Mr. Savad. How disrespectful to everyone who ever served.

And since Arianna Grande's concert goers were just attacked we all have reason to be grateful we have the military to step up if a larger scale attack occurs.
Memorial Day is a solemn and sacred holiday. It deserves respect.

Yes, if honoring the veterans was your goal than you are honorable in every way, Tony and if you served, thank you for your service. Memorial day honors those who've passed in active duty, and I'm in awe of people who sacrifice to fight for our country.

Memorial day is boring for me because it's the last day of the weekend and a busy day, and most importantly, it throws my schedule off in many ways. It never feels like a day off for some reason, and although it should be sacred, it isn't, and that is sad.

I think I'll visit our graveyard because they put up the flags and it's beautiful and I should probably make it a sacred day.

for me memorial day is:

a parade
a bbq
and store sales.

beyond that it has little meaning to me. its just how it is. its not meant to be an insult or anything. most holidays to me have no meaning. not caring for a holiday has nothing to do with its meaning. every holiday has meaning to someone in some way. i find no meaning in any of them. period.

but that's getting off topic. the main point is, if you wanted to talk about that holiday, your image was out of place, and there was no question following it. like if you asked - what does this holiday mean to you? then you would have started a conversation. but it was only a statement and an advertisement and then it was abandoned, not even a bump. it took me 4 pages before i found it.

I can already hear the steps of Commander Findley around the corner, coming to rule us with his iron fist. So careful, closed threads die fast.

Look Tony, how the "Mirror" titled the same theme: "Kind-hearted stranger saves manĀ“s poppy memorial photo of World War One hero uncle from raging Strom Angus."

Key Words Matter.

I would imagine that it would be very disappointing to open a thread and have no response to it.
In this forum, the regular contributors are painfully aware that certain topics ( politics) and behaviors ( adding images) are not allowed.
It does not mean the forum participants are unpatriotic or uncaring...just unsure as to how to proceed, given our rules.

Perhaps, there was a better hook to open a discussion on an all but lost meaning of National holidays, Memorial Day included.

Abbie Shores

I will carefully explain the rules again later. It's very easy in my head. Just hard to get others to understand it lol

Marlene Burns

well, that, Abbie, and the fact that none of us read!

Abbie Shores

Aye, there's that also.

Roy Erickson

Rules? Abbie says there are rules. Yes, it's true - we probably either cannot read or we don't understand what we read - and sometimes we don't know why we read either. I deleted what I wrote earlier - perhaps, thinking about it, it wasn't what the OP was talking about - but then, being misled by the title probably sent my brain cell that is working in a tizzy. Should I have responded to the title (I agree with it) or to the OP which was about starting a thread and being pretty much ignored - or not. OP's that interest other users of the forum last - those that don't hold interest lapse and go beyond the bottom of the page and are seldom ever seen again.
