Also, I apparently like to coordinate my post background colors with my art. Because I'm stylish.

"Monumental Foundation" photograph, is my capture of the Australian Granite supports on a gorgeous bridge in Melbourne, Australia.
The Bridge dates back a long time and is a thing of historical beauty.

Bald Eagle Art Prints

One of my favorite subjects is the bald eagle, and we're having a grand time this year since ours have just hatched two chicks. A blessing, considering last year, there were no eggs! This is the male bald eagle of the pair I follow - he was chasing off three intruders when I shot the photo. It was a cloudy day. Many photographers don't like to shoot on cloudy days, but I do! I simply raise the exposure to blow out the sky to complete white, and then I can easily add textures -- which is what I did here to create this wildlife art.

I capture candid images of people in Chicago. Along for the ride is one of our dogs, an old German Shorthair Pointer. One of my favorite areas is called "Uptown."

Susan, if this is to be label photograph, than how come one cannot use any term from the photography list to examine this photo?

Susan Maxwell Schmidt

I don't quite understand the question, Lutz. Do you mean why isn't it showing up in search? I just uploaded it, won't show up for 24 hours or so. If that's not what you mean, please rephrase and I'll try again :)

And another painted photo I just listed:

I try to rephrase, Susan: your entries here in this thread are supposed to be photographs, right? When I look at them, I cannont use one singel term from a handbook of photography to examine, analyse or describe them. So, how come there are in is tread for photography? I know, there is a camera action involved at some point, but every uploaded painting here on this site has camera action involved. So that can't be a creteria, right?

Susan Maxwell Schmidt

Ah, now I got ya Lutz! Maybe you missed this in the OP?

"Photo manipulation, photos with textures, and digital art originating from photography are all accepted here."

Everything I post in this thread is either a photograph or started out as one. I post pure digital art in the "no photos" thread.

Ah, allright ! So I can post my photographed paintings here, right?

Susan Maxwell Schmidt

Yup! :)

Well, I think so... if you mean painted photography, yes. If you mean photos of paintings on canvas being sold as prints, they go in the other thread. Clear as mud, eh? LOL!

I took this picture following all the expert advises I could find on how to photograph a canvas.

But nowhere it said what side you should focus on.

A Father and Son in a canoe paddling through White's Cove in Pasadena, Maryland. I created the composition in an OOF (Out Of Frame), also known as OOB, (Out Of Bounds) technique which gives the appearance of a pseudo 3D effect.

I have absolutely no idea where I left off - I post in this thread occasionally and try to pick three that are among my most recent and are most different from one another. Pretty sure I haven't posted any of these before.

Here's a photopainting of a cat, completely at home in the Old Town area of Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Next is a colorful close-up of macarons, a sweet meringue confection that originated in Italy centuries ago but was really popularized by the French when they began sandwiching two of the biscuits together with a filling between them.
Finally I've included an irresistibly cute tree frog, unusual among frogs in that it walks rather than hops which accounts for its very skinny look and the lack of pronounced musculature in the hind legs.

A gray squirrel photo, manipulated into an OOF (Out Of Frame), also known as OOB (Out Of Bounds) image. The OOF technique gives the image a pseudo 3D appearance. In this case, the squirrel looks as if he's escaping from the photo.

When the thaw comes in spring, we get some hefty chunks of icy and snow on the Saint Clair river running south down from Lake Huron in Port Huron. The stuff along the shore freezes on the lake then breaks free and floats past for a few days. I took this shot in color too but I prefer the black and white version:
