Path In The Gates Published Again
March 11th, 2024 - LIC, NY
James Reade Venable's first ever publication was a photo he took in 2005 of the artists Christo and Jeanne-Claude's art installation in Central Park entitled The gates. It catapulted him into taking a more focused path into photography to pursue it professionally. Now years later the photograph is being published again in Tint Journal; a ESL publication. Shot on Black and White film this piece was taken because while walking through the installation, it had recently snowed and someone shoveled through the gates in a zig-zag manner. The image captured his eye right away and hear it is 20 years later being published for a second time. It's available here on Fine Art America.
FAA Member Uses Writing Platform To Shine Spotlight On Different Artists
March 11th, 2024 - Savannah, Ga
Well-known as both an artist and a writer, Fine Art America member Aberjhani recently used his talents to shine a spotlight on fellow artist Rocky Bettis with an article titled: Reinterpreting Shakespeare’s Face, The Second Coming of Artist Rock Bettis. The article, said Aberjhani, was as much a surprise to him as it became to visitors to his Bright Skylark Literary Productions website.
“I liked the idea of writing an article about Mr. Bettis’s new art exhibit when I heard about it,” the author-artist said, “because we met once before, during the pandemic, when his work was on display in a carport in a backstreet lane in downtown Savannah. I wrote a short blog piece about that encounter, and now four years later I was being told his work was hanging in a major coffee shop gallery. That’s pretty amazing.”
In a way, this recent article has become part of a tradition for Aberjhani Art Association. He has in the past composed articles, essays, poems, and...
Pat Cross Art Sold At City National Bank
March 9th, 2024 - Eleanor, Wv
The original pen and ink drawing by Pat Cross titled "For Kids of All Ages" reached a new collector who recognized the hill and house in this piece.
The buyers said that the drawing brought back fond memories of winters growing up in this special town called Eleanor, where kids and adults played outdoors with vigor all seasons of the year.
The drawing sold during my exhibit of original pen and inks displayed in the lobby of City National Bank here in Eleanor, thanks to JP Owens who gave me the thumbs up to show my art there and to Melissa Whittington at the Eleanor branch who told the buying couple of my work.
I do appreciate the support of City National Bank and for the people there who express a genuine interest in their community. New Artistic Chapter For Susan Masley Thomas
March 6th, 2024 - Indio, CA
After a life-altering ski accident, Park City inspired a new artistic chapter for Susan Masley Thomas
PARK CITY, Utah — After years of championing artists and galleries in Park City, Susan Masley Thomas, a former public relations professional for the Kimball Art Center and the Park City Gallery Association, has emerged as a prolific painter herself.
Thomas’ career began in journalism and television news, where she honed her storytelling skills. Her path took a significant turn when she decided to pursue a more “family-friendly” career in public relations, leading her to the Kimball Art Center. There, amidst the creativity and innovation of Park City’s art scene, Susan found her calling — not just promoting art but creating it.
“I was so in awe of the artists who would come through the gallery,” Thomas reminisced. “I was so filled with joy seeing all of that art… I was a writer who was inspired by the artists.”
Thomas’ pivot to...

Exhibiting At The Other Art Fair Dallas
March 1st, 2024 - Killeen, TX
It's official, I'm going to Dallas! I'll be exhibiting in The Other Art Fair Dallas at the Dallas Market Hall May 9-12, 2024. This is exciting for me since this is the first event of this type and format that I will participate in. Saatchi Art is the main presenter and they hand-pick the artists through applications. I will have more details as the time comes closer. I'm testing out the smallest booth size, but I think it is plenty to start with. The back wall is eight linear feet and side wings are four linear feet each. I am planning a variety of sizes, so as of late I have painted a few 12" x 12" works and have a few more small scale planned.
Checking out the Spring Dallas fair, I could see that everyone sold art and that it did not matter whether an artist had large or small booths. In-fact, my impression was that the largest booth size might not be necessary since the exhibitors were not galleries but rather individual artists, plus the walls were fairly tall....

Into this exhibit titled Still the One, jurors selected the original oil painting by Pat Cross, Bearded Beauty shown from a bee’s point of view. “Those distinctive stripes on the iris bloom serve as a landing strip,” explains Pat Cross, “that guide a bee or other pollinator into the protected chamber that holds the sweet powder.” Many of the artworks by Pat Cross reveal particular curiosities found when slowing down to quietly observe the natural world more closely.

Pat Cross Sells Framed Fine Art Prints Of Carnegie Hall
March 1st, 2024 - Eleanor, Wv
SOLD! These framed fine art prints of the oil painting, Music on the Ivy Terrace at Carnegie Hall now display in the homes and office of new collectors in Lewisburg.
These 20” x 16” prints each mount in an acid-free double mat with a black liner and are secured under glass and a frame that compliments the piece.
“I began making prints of my paintings early in my art career,” says Pat Cross. “I wanted to find a way to provide my artwork to buyers with a budget.” Fine art prints typically cost a fraction of the price of an original oil painting, often making them within reach of reach of most people. “I want anyone who connects with my artwork to be able to acquire it, so I make prints of various sizes,” says Pat Cross. Some of my buyers choose a print they can mat themselves while others prefer matted prints ready to mount into a standard-size frame they buy from their favorite household décor store or frame shop.

February 27th, 2024 - Alpharetta, GA
Artificial intelligence (AI) has transformed the art world in unimaginable ways. Artists, collectors, and enthusiasts navigate the shifting landscape where AI tools reshape art creation, analysis, and valuation. AI integration in art is still in its early stages, but its foothold in the market is firm, and its growth trajectory shows immense potential, especially as the technology matures. (For a PDF, Please proceed to www.ViewFinderAI.com)
One of the most intriguing aspects of AI integration in this field is the birth of new art forms. After all, AI-generated paintings, sculptures, and even music depart from traditional artistic methods, pushing boundaries of creativity. Aside from fostering creativity, AI democratizes art, making it accessible to wider audiences through digital platforms.
Forward-looking artists like Michael VanPatten utilize this democratization to explore their passion for art and improve their artistic process. Michael's work illustrates the...
