The Making of the Acrylic Painting Winter Salt Lake City Utah Temple

Winter Salt Lake City, Utah Temple was an awesome challenge to paint. Previous to this painting, the largest piece I had done was the Autumn Salt Lake City, Utah Temple which was 2 feet high and 3 feet wide. This winter painting was exactly double the size, measuring 4 feet high and 6 feet wide. My local art store doesn't sell canvases this size so I had to order one in.

I found it thrilling and at times tedious working on a canvas this large. It was great to work in fine detail, but at times I felt like I was doing the same brush strokes hundreds of times which made the work become monotonous at times. However, I couldn't be more happy with the finished product and grateful for what I learned along the way.
