Summer Roses and Other Garden Delights

Time flies whether you're having fun or not! I just realized I hadn't created a NEW blog to share since April? Could've sworn I posted my last in June. In any event, it's about quality, not quantity, right? The garden continues to delight & garner my attention; how could it not w-all the beautiful roses, daylilies, poppies [yes, they're still blooming], black-eyed Susan's, daisies, pansies, geraniums...and veggies! You get it; there's a LOT going on out in our 'little Eden' as some call i!! I think time flies more quickly when you're busy, not so much when you're having fun. But, I digress...'Back to Eden' [good book, btw]...the garden continues to amaze & fill the senses. Mother Nature can't do it all on her own; we have to help! So, happily, things are filling in nicely in both the upper & lower yard. New & older plants are thriving, and myriad flying insects & birds visit daily to enjoy the flowers, feeders & fruit-nut trees. We like to say, 'it's our own little slice of paradise', started from scratch, literally. I shudder to think, sometimes, of all the hard work I've done over the years that has brought me to this place, but it's all been worth it ~ a labor of love. I've always enjoyed creating garden sanctuaries wherever I've lived so there is a special place at my fingertips in which to work, explore & commune w-nature. This particular garden of ours has been evolving for over 22 years, so you can imagine the love that goes into it. I, for one, need that to help replenish, rejuvenate & restore body, mind & spirit.
