Life in the Ozark Hills

This is my first blog post entry, so let my introduce myself! I live in the beautiful Ozark mountains in the woods. I lost my husband, the love of my life, and stone-sculpting fellow artist and fishing buddy to cancer on January 15, 2017. Two months in and the emotions are still raw and unbelievable. He was only 63 years old. The world is going on anyway, and spring has come regardless of how I feel. It is a mixed bag of things right now. I have a void in my life bigger than the Grand Canyon to fill. I went out to find some mushrooms yesterday, another first thing without him. I didn't find any, but I took some pictures. The picture of the ferns sprouting from the old leaves represents life anew. I've been trying to look for a silver lining in all of this but it's hard to see. I'm hoping my freinds, family, and creativity will help me be like that fern one of these days!
