My profile pic was inspired by my daughter, Holly. She needed a drawing to go with her Psychology degree assignment about 'Good and Evil' (didn't matter where it came from, as long as it was original, not from Google, apparently). I had 2 hours to do it as it had to be completed that night (she always leaves things til last minute). I did a quick pencil drawing of her in silhouette with a devil's hand against her ear, to suggest evil thoughts being whispered into it. Sends shivers down your spine! She was happy with the result. Mission accomplished.

After that, I was inspired and just had to try doing a painted version in acrylics. The canvas is 3ft x 2ft. This time, I thought it might be even better to have the devil's hand on her shoulder, as if to suggest that evil was trying to guide her thoughts and actions. At times, it seems that we all have that devil on our shoulders trying to sway our decisions. Like many of us, Holly ignores it and does the right thing most of the time. Hence she is seen to be looking up at the heavens towards the light.

For the under-painting I used the shadow of my own hand on the canvas, as a guide for the devil's hand. Photos of the process can be seen on my Instagram page - www.instagram.com/rainysbow/
