Retirement: Not from painting, but to more painting!

Last December 1st I retired from over 43 years in the photography business, and now intend to spend more time on painting than I have been able to do over the years. We shall see if the desire to paint is overtaken by the desire to visit with grandchildren!!

Currently there are three of my paintings at the Tampa Regional Artist's Gallery in South Tampa, FL. The show is called "Landscapes, Seascapes and Cityscapes." I am very pleased that one of my pieces was awarded 2nd place in the show.

Starting in early May, the same location will be featuring the juried exhibit: Bay Area Artists 10. This will run for most of the month of May with an opening reception on Friday, May 19th at 5:30PM. I have two pieces juried into the show: "Demmi's Market" and "Talkeetna Roadhouse." I am impressed with the quality of the work that I have seen in this group, It is very flattering to be a part of it.

More on all of this later!

I am pleased to say that "Parking Garage at 31st St. NW" was awarded 2nd Place Oil at the Landscape, Seascape and Cityscape exhibit at the Tampa Regional Artist in April. In addition, Talkeetna Roadhouse was honored with an Award of Excellence in Oil at the Bay Area 10 Art Show in May, also hosted by TRA. TRA, located on Swann Avenue in South Tampa holds a new exhibition each month and the level of work shown is very high. I am very pleased to have been honored with these awards. CM
