Welcome To Our Family.
GENERAL INFORMATION AND HOW WE DO THINGS HERE:
Please use the URL for your image postings, rather than the copy and paste code. Posting the photo itself, rather than a link will make it difficult for people who don't have high speed internet, as well it might cause people to skip over your post without promoting.
If you want others to promote your work, you should do the same for them. We "do unto others." Those of us who take a full part in promoting ourselves and others try to do so for a 24 hour period or longer if possible. That includes opening the Big Skip and promoting the images in there too.
Only 1 image is allowed within a 24 hour period, both in this discussion and in the group.
There is NO contest vote solicitation allowed on the discussion boards.
If you are posting nudes, or other questionable images, please post a warning notice with your link. There are children here, as well as adults who choose not to look at that type of image.
Please do not post links from your pixels.com account or any other FAA mirror site. It tends to create problems for some people and most will skip those links.
ABSOLUTELY NO images of nudity, death, cruelty or violence of any kind on the main board, where you have no ability to post a warning.
Finally, JUST HAVE FUN!! This is an incredible group of people who will make you feel welcome from your first post!!
TO ALL NEWCOMERS: I realize that some of you are so new to not only the group, but to FAA, that I thought perhaps a little clarification is in order. I'm sure you've noticed that while we can't require anyone to vote/like anyone elses work, we do tend to treat people the way people treat others. But I also realized that you may not have a clue what we're talking about, so........... to "like" someone's work, you click on their blue link, which opens up that particular piece. In the upper right corner, you'll see a few little icons. One is a thumbs up, which is what you press to "like/vote" for that piece of art. Most of us here press that whether we love the work or not. It's how we help each other to move up in the FAA search standings (even though FAA now says it doesn't count for very much, but that's now past history and it is what it is). That's all we ask of you. Should you choose to do so however, you can also click on the little heart (which is to add a work to your own "favorites" list), and you'll also find buttons for the various social media sites if the artist chooses to activate any or all of those buttons. These are the ways we promote each other. You may also choose to vote/like your own submissions. It's perfectly acceptable to do so

This is my pic from may years ago when I was an eye-witness to a tragic event at Chichen Itza site. A woman from San Diego fell to her death right before our eyes. Since then the pyramid is closed and nobody can climb to the top. In this photo taken right before the accident you can still see people on the stairs and the top platform. They were coming down on their bums step bu step after she fell. Scared out of their wits. I can still see her falling when I close my eyes as it was yesterday.

Had fun catching up on everyone's work - a nice evening art stroll!
This image is of a wee baby that visited my front yard- the smallest one I've seen out and about, and very brave!
Randy - feel better soon!

Teresa, what a terrible thing to witness. I was at one of the pyramids in Mexico back in the 60s. Our tour guide and my husband had to help me down, and I didn't get that high up.
Kim arrived at her hotel after a really bad drive. Lots of accidents, and at the last one, she managed to go about 3 miles in an hour. I'm glad she finally got there.

This is the last image from my Stop Action Series. Hope that you enjoyed them.
Glad that Kim arrived safely......terrible and scary driving when there are so many accidents.

Good evening!
In 2005, my daughter went on a European trip with the university she was going to. They were in Paris and a bunch of the students went down to the Eiffel Tower at night so they could take pictures of it lit up. While they were down there the police arrived and at that time, they didn't know why. While she was looking at her pictures later, she noticed that something was hanging on the side of the tower. It wasn't until after she got home that she found out that some guy with a helmet cam on, parachuted from the tower. The guy was filming the stunt for a commercial for some line of Norwegian clothing. The parachute got stuck on the tower and ripped it off his body and he fell to the first floor observation deck. Needless to say he did not survive and I'm glad my daughter didn't know what happened when it did, otherwise she probably would have been traumatized.

Yeah, everyone in our group hoped she will survive somehow but it looked awful and deep down we all knew she will not. I got few phone calls from people who were writing books about mayan history asking about the accident. Somehow they got a date on my photo but didn't know if it was taken before, during or after the fall. We had a doctor in our group who went to help and drove in an ambulance with her so after he joined the group back we learned she died from her injuries. Our poor guide was completely lost and didn't know how to proceed after either.

oh Judy, it's good she didn't see it as it would stay with her for the rest of her life. It's been years for me and I can say exactly what the poor woman was wearing. The date was January 5, 2006

another old repeat. I'm going through a lot of old uploads, and adding them to groups and modifying the crop for various items. This photo was my first sale on FAA, back about about 6 months after I started.
