The Russian Federation Visiting Faa?

In my last FAA update I noticed that the last visitor to a number of my images was the Russian Federation. What's up with that?

Anyone in the world with internet access can visit your profile, and see the artwork you post. The Russian Federation visits everyone's pages, as do several other visitors who visit early and often and may be "bots" or search engines.

If you don't want that, I understand there is a way to create passcodes for galleries on your profile. If you create a passcode, then only people who have the passcode can visit. But that defeats the purpose of posting online, if you're trying to sell your work to the general public.

Dolores,

You have incredible work.

You need to get seen.

I KNOW its coming so I will say it first.

I think they are trying to influence the conest voting.

Now I will reprimand myself for saying something that could be taken as political and give myself a timeout.

Really laughing out loud at your comment JC - all of it.!

Dolores, hope it means some sales to Russia !

Many thanks for your comments guys. Since this was the first time I was visited by the Russian Federation I was just wondering if others were visited as well. And it did seem to be a bit strange that it happened right after it was reported that the Russians had hacked Yahoo accounts. Of course if they are interested in purchasing art then good on them!

This forum REALLY needs a little "like" button.

No visits from the Russians here, but my other profile is getting bombarded with fake email subscribers.

FAA "About" page - "Hundreds of thousands of artists and iconic brands... millions of images... billions of products... 14 global production facilities in 5 different countries"

FAA membership is international, including the artist and photographers from Russia.

I also have Russian connections on my social media, when I share my art I have visits from Russia as well.

RE: Russian Federation

I remember so well not just a visitor, but one of the earliest members here on FAA...Not only a fine, fine artist..but a very active artist here on this forum. Even collaborating with other fine, fine artists here.

https://fineartamerica.com/showmessages.php?messageid=477811

His name is Yury Yanin, and is from the Russian Federation.

He's no longer active here...But I see he's still very active elsewhere

He's great. Really liked chatting with him.

I've been visited by the Russsian Federation ever since I joined FAA about 5 years ago. Still get them from time to time. I just assumed they were bots (like most of my other visitors) and nothing to get excited about.

maybe they were looking for moose and squirrel?

Cynthia,

Not only are popularity contests very insecure places for the majority of members on such a board, but the worst ideas get to the top and the best ideas sink very quickly. Nothing is neutral any longer with a like button. The ignore button is great for kids who throw temper tantrums and slam doors. Generally misused as well.

Conversations have to have a little give and take among mature decent adults.

The only time to worry is if you see visitors from the United Federation of Planets. Then quickly don the tin foil.

Ooooh, can I be Natasha?? Didn't you once have a Russian Tzar avatar Mike dahlink? Or is that just wishful thinking on my part?

Dave, not everything is a dire matter and that comment comes about a nanometer from trolling.

Actually, rereading Abbie's recent troll post have a day off.
