I would post a couple photos of my "studio" if there was a way to do it without having to upload them to my profile.

I do have this IG post of my drawing table, assuming this link works. https://www.instagram.com/p/BIJAe-OgvOm/?taken-by=davidkingstudio

I have a lot of different workspaces.

I do plein air sometimes, so my workspace is a backpack with wheels and wherever I decide to set up to paint this time.

The dining room table. Spouse loves that (not).

And... I finally have a real art studio!! Rented studio space in the basement of a furniture store. There are a number of people in the studio spaces who do furniture restoration.

Mostly street - some living room space - boards and easel I move between laundry and living room depending on light/time of day

No photo but I have a small room down off our garage, part of a converted bomb shelter.

I usually work on the bed - bad posture and all, bending over my large piece of board that my sheet of watercolor paper will fit on. Sometimes I work on the floor. Only once did I actually have studio space that I rented - that lasted about three months - it just didn't work out.

My condo is over 1200 sq ft. The living room is large with a dining room in an L pattern. In the corner of the L I have a lot of room, part dining room and part living room. My desk was from Naked Furniture back in 1984, stained it. I have my equipment on the desk and that is it. The ceiling slopes down in front of me. I use daylight bulbs, the deck sliding door is over my left shoulder. There is a small bay window to my right. I have art and books. Two couches facing each other in the living room.

I vacuumed yesterday, now I need to dust this weekend. As a bachelor we are talking some serious cleaning. The condo was built in 1968, it is very modern architecture.

Still working on redoing my studio space. Husband built new cabinets and shelves for me. My office and matting/framing table are on the other side.

I didn't think the photos would look so big on here. sorry.

Two painters has its demands...Working in multi-media and in varying formats complicates all that again...But we have no complaints; very lucky finally.

The main studio is not heated so it works for part on the year...Even if it look luxurious, it is only because we have found ways to tuck the supplies all over the place. There are several work stations, tables, etc...linen hanging from the ceiling and pounds and pounds of pigments and age old tubes of paint...

The 'winter studio' is a porch...tight but most often only one of us is there at a time - nobody wants company for painting...The winter-studio has all the regular stuff; plus an etching press...

Both of us, for many years painted in closets and corners - even large canvas...We open the studio once a year in June so, somewhere around June 24 [2 days] stop out and have a wine and a cracker...

I have an excellent place, what I never used yet.. This is what I call Karavella Atelier, just some steps from the sea. We bought it as an investment, it was a small family restaurant before, and we gave to rent as a snack bar, while we were living in abroad.
The renter left fast and ugly after he painted the wall, he didn't have the money to do what he intended to do and left us in trouble ...

Then we thought we would give to rent as a working studio to Artists until I am free to use it. We had lots of Artists interested, but they wanted to sleep also there, not only to work, what is right now not allowed.
So now we are trying to arrange the permission to turn it into a apartment, and give to rent like that.

You can check the place here:

Instead of that nice lightly area, I have now this Messy Table in a corner of our guest room. With a tapestry loom made by me from a clothes stander, some weaving going on, I dont see when I will be able to finish it, because I haven't touched it since my second child was born, and I lost myself on the Internet...

And a John Constable in front of me, what we got with a another apartment, and I didn't have the heart to get rid of it. (my in laws has by chance exactly the same painting in their hall lol so I couldn't pass to them) And I put it up this way, because my hubby hates it, and didn't want to make holes on the wall for that, but meanwhile my child loooove to watch the horse of the painting :))

I am not really creating here too much nothing right now, only clicking on my computer. I cannot hide my stuff anymore, my little one is bringing chairs to climb up on my table, so all my stuff, paint, yarns, and so on, are hided somewhere deep in wardrobes.

Photography Prints

Yes, I am not proud of it right now, but in 1,5 years I will reorganise my life and my place ... And create a decent place where I will be able to continue to create... :D

Gina, I wish to thank you for starting this tread...Besides being a light way to share a bit of comradery; it also served to inspire some writing today...Thank you for playing! tdp

I create most of my work in my metal barn building that is divided with the air conditioned studio taking up 14 x 30 feet of it. My work space looks like a messy warehouse. We converted a bed room in the house into an office/printer room.

All these shares are so cool, now let's see some messy spaces.
